Went out to feed my dog a few minutes ago and got suffocated with mosquitoes. Went and got a flashlight and discovered thousands of mosquitoes hanging out on her cage platform and some flying around her. She didn't seem bothered, but I know it has to be aggravating. What's a good spray any of y'all use?

And don't give me any "keep your dog inside" BS. She's 100+ lbs of couch flipping, mattress eating hound dog already tried that.

A fan pointed into her kennel helps.

I've heard that planting marigolds around the pen will help but I don't know if that's true.

just go to the home depot and get some general insecticide that contains pyretherins...spectracide or something like that. spray it around the area with a garden sprayer and it will kill them if they land on it...

10-4. I guess all the rain brought them back out. I've never seen them this bad around her pen though.

Well you could always go out there and spray a little Off on her.

Hi-yield 38. Google it, you can buy online or at feed stores. Ignore instructions and spray during the hottest time during the day in places where the mosquitos live. Follow instructions to spray dogs body though.

If your in Belle Rose, I know White Castle Co-op sells it.

Bifen IT works great for that and should give you about a month of protection.

My neighbor has had success keeping them off his porch by planting a few pots of mint.

You don't have any standing water around do you? Get rid of those breeding grounds too.

Eucalyptus is a natural mosquito repellant too. Problem is they don't grow well in La.

With that many there has to be a breeding ground nearby. I'd start with getting rid of the source first.

I also use Bifen IT. it repels all bugs for up to three months depending on the amount of rain. do a 100% coverage of grass, brush and whatever trees you can.

My back side of my property borders a sugar cane field. The ditch that separates the 2 always has water in it.

Going to give that bifen it a try.
