Those things are straight up evil. Probably the most effective trap ever devised for killing shite. Nerve wracking to set too.

That is an Alligator Snapping Turtle. The three rows are what differentiates it from the "Common Snapping Turtle" which has a smother shell.

yes, I had 2 set in a beaver run and something happened to the dam overnite and the water drained out. Ending up catching 2 hounds (someone's deer dogs). Both were deader than a door nail.

This is why I set them under water 99.9% of the time.

I wonder what made the beaver pond drain all of the sudden??

Somebody said you could get upwards of $50 for one but I don't mess with all that. My main mission is to get the water off the trees after duck season. The beavers had other plans and the otters are collateral damage. The beavers are holding water that is killing trees. They were left unchecked last spring and the damage has already started to show. It is game on this spring.

Sounds like some Phil Robertson shite. They have only done about 8 episodes of DD concerning killing beavers.

That is one thing I just couldn't eat. While I love a good bowl of turtle soup, I couldn't sacrifice a turtle that has lived for 50 years or more. Got to respect the wildlife on occasion.

Someone gets it. You'll hear from the water boys with their wooden spoons momentarily.
