Nice bull.
Reminds me of an old pipefitter I know that had a bull from the time it hit the ground. He was like a big arse dog. Waited in the yard for him to come home and drank beer with him. Dude had a hat with the bull air brushed on it and his name, "Redman."

There is a pasture just down the road from me that has probably 50+ head of Longhorns.

Nice. What town is that near?

I bet their bull isn't as big as mine.

If true, I need to meet the fool that paid $170,000.00 for her. I know I have some stuff I can get that idiot to buy.

And the bull looks like a fine Longhorn.

What kind of fencing do you use to keep a longhorn from tearing it to pieces? I always kept polled cattle. Beautiful bull, btw!

Yeah, there's a back story to that.

The same people who bought her also bought the next highest priced longhorn ever. Money really isn't a factor. The sale she was bought in is a who's who black tie social type deal. I cruise the "meat and potatoes" sales and buy most of my cattle by private treaty.

We have the regular 5 strands of Barb wire. A wild cow gets hauled off to the sale barn at my place. With horns, I take no chances on crazy cattle. Working and feeding them leaves no room for one that wants to get in the utv with you. Too dangerous...

This bull will let you scratch his head while he's eating cubes.

We were in Simmentals in the '70's and '80's. Lots of showmen swapping money in their sales.

Absolutely. They all kind of take turns paying each other off.

You gotta have something worth selling though...

I can't believe someone didn't flush her! Seems like there would be a frozen embryo somewhere.
Beautiful specimen you got there. Congrats.

She has a full sister that was promoted off her fame. I think they may have done some embryo transfers from her.

The folks that bought the main cow just kept her to themselves. This bull got sold and the sold again to a very small herd of 3 cows a year or so ago. He really got lost in the fray.

Like I said, I always knew I'd own him after I saw him the first time if the opportunity presented itself. He "unofficially" came on the market and I bought him an hour and half later...
