I am probably in that range as well. Used to hunt up in Arkie and they had a shite load of deer and we put some meat on the ground up there but since I moved to Texas, I only get to go on invite trips now where it's horns and maybe a doe.

I have enough stuff on my wall now that unless it's something really large I just let it walk. I am good if I just pop a doe a year for the freezer at this point.

I have 13 8 pts on the wall in my shop from the mounted to the smaller ones. Add in the does and small bucks from years ago i would say 35-40. Odd as it is i have killed alot of good deer but never bigger than 8 not a single 9or 10 pt. Although last night my scope was on a real big one that kept his rear to me before walking away he may have been bigger didnt sleep last night thinking about how i should have shot but I am in some thick woods. I am sitting here right now already saw 2 spikes.

I'm going to try and get back into it next season. Will be buying a deer rifle sometime this year.

I'm 24 and killed my first deer when i was 8. I've killed 7 bucks, including a 150" and a 130". I kill 2-3 does every year for meat. Probably around 50 when all is said and done. I pretty much deer hunt exclusively though, I would love to get into duck hunting, but my family doesn't and I don't have anywhere to get into it, much less by myself.

Between 80 and 100 quit keeping track years ago. They all meat now. Try to shoot 2 or so now. I mostly chase ducks.

Killed about 35-40 deer in 20 years. Killed about the same number of hogs in about 15 years. Haven't killed anything nice though. Biggest buck was probably around 110in. Hunt the marsh a lot so not a lot of big old bucks that seem to survive.

I'm kinda surprised at some of the numbers being put up. I was expecting the numbers to be higher. I understand people just trophy hunting or not getting to hunt much. Is the deer population that much lower in the southern part of the state? Know people in this part of the state and south Arkie that tag out every year. Some shoot whatever steps out. I hunt in 3 different areas and it is not hard to see deer at any of them. Never have hunted in the southern part of the state. Was in a club in Port Gibson last year and didn't see a fraction of the deer that I do up this way. Is it a problem of less deer or just more area for them to spread out?

I hunt in Rocky Springs which is 10 minutes from Port Gibson. We have a lot of deer, probably as much as anywhere, but you don't see as much because we are in the hills. They are not rolling hills either, but rather straight up and straight down over our 600 acres. You can literally be 50 yards from a deer and not see it because it on the other side of one. This year as well we have had one of the largest acorn crops i can remember so they are not moving much for food. You just have to be in the right spot for them. On the other hand I've killed the biggest two deer of my life there and also kill 2-3 does each year, so it's not like it's bad, just tough hunting.

That club I was in apparently wasn't up to par with the rest of that area. I did see a few and there were steep hills like you described. I would get on the ridges and look down into the bottoms. You could see for pretty good distances. Covered a lot of area. People rode their wheelers all the time up and down the trails. That was a drawback IMO. I think less than 8 bucks were killed off of the 2,500 acres. None of them were that spectacular. Not worth what I was paying anyways.
