re: Chest/tris day, but working out at different times - DownSouthTiger on 3/29/17 at 8:18 am
I do just chest by itself and go all out on it. Do arms on another day by itself biceps/triceps. I lift 5 days a week so my personal thought which doesnt mean its correct is if chest day gets in some work on triceps then a few days later really working out tris on arm day I will get more tricep work...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Fitness Questions (Leg Day (Literially)) - DownSouthTiger on 2/21/17 at 4:01 pm
Same with me I am 42 years old with alot of years of lifting and get extremely sore each time. My opinion is if you dont work harder. Go heavier and make sure you squat deep even add a pause at the bottom. Giys at my gym that say they dont all squat 185 or do half reps. Also Smith Machine squats...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Fitness Questions (Leg Day (Literially)) - DownSouthTiger on 2/21/17 at 7:00 am
If you really work out your legs you should be too sore to work them out again. I am usually sore 5-6 days. Warmup 3x10 light leg ext 4x10 leg press Workout I start at 135 doing sets of 8 adding weight until I get up to 365 then drop the reps to . Now add 20 pounds each set up to 425. At that...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

re: Need help getting healthy - DownSouthTiger on 12/30/16 at 1:40 pm
I am in the gym every weekday morning by 430 sure at first its hard but once you are in the habit no problem. Dont restrict eating too much if you working out but I mean really pushing it. I eat poptarts and protien shakes along with rice, meat and vegetables all by the first couple hours of day. Yo...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: 401k/Roth Rate of Return - DownSouthTiger on 12/30/16 at 8:21 am
You are correct. I know what I am doing so really no need for Edward Jones. I believe though since I have paid for the front loaded funds already the money I have in there should just stay there. I am thinking new money I will do something else with. I am also looking at a place to roll my pension o...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: 401k/Roth Rate of Return - DownSouthTiger on 12/28/16 at 10:35 am
Yes the company I work for has a return around 19%. Also several of the funds I am in are between 15 and 20% return also. Also, yes I see what you are saying about a 6-7% return meeting my goals while being somewhat safe about it. My main question was understanding the returns to know whethe...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: 401k/Roth Rate of Return - DownSouthTiger on 12/28/16 at 8:10 am
Yes some were purchased in 2016. I make a monthly deposit but it is on average about one fourth of my monthly 401k pre tax contribution. The Roth is what ed Jones deems aggressive it does have some bonds in that it has capital income builder fund, growth fund of America, new perspective fund, a coup...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: 401k/Roth Rate of Return - DownSouthTiger on 12/27/16 at 10:23 pm
Actually I am 42 and both the 401k and Roth do not contain any bonds. Edward Jones has their group of funds they will always want to use and the options I have at fidelity are outperforming those funds by a mile. Thanks I was making sure I was comparing the 2 correctly. Of course Edward Jones wants ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
401k/Roth Rate of Return - DownSouthTiger on 12/27/16 at 10:07 pm
I am trying to understand how rate of return year to date is calculated. I have money I contribute each month into a Roth IRA at Edward Jones and this year return so far shows almost %7.8. My company 401k is at fidelity and I make all the decisions myself and have a year to date return of %14. My...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (6)
re: Cooking 18LB Fresh turkey in oil less fryer? - DownSouthTiger on 12/22/16 at 4:10 pm
My company gave us turkeys for Thanksgiving and they were 18.5 lbs. It was too big for my fryer so I used the oil less fryer I thought it came out fine. I did it for 10 min a pound but didn't worry about measuring internal temp and was still very juicy on the inside. It was starting to get a little ...
