I stopped cold turkey Jan 1st. I'm going strong, but still would like a dip every now and then.
I'm going quail hunting on Thursday; that will be a huge test.
(Confession: I'm going on a 10-day fishing trip to Canada in July and fully plan on that being my next dip.)

haven't had one since 72...course that was the first and the last time I tried it...quit smoking for 12 years about 15 years ago...I don't smoke as much but on the golf course and bass fishing I have to have one...that or a good cigar on the golf course...

I quit late November. Haven't done it since. You're correct, day 3 was the hardest. I woke up covered in sweat. I still have dreams about taking a big pinch and they seem so real. Haven't touched it IRL though I get my fix while I'm sleeping.

That's awesome. Physically, the worst part for me has been the headaches. They've been compounded by funky sinuses the past few days too. Haven't dreamt about it yet though.

It should help a bit to remind yourself that the manufacturers deliberately made a product that is incredibly addictive.
So an additional motivation might be that you just don't want to send them any more $$$. (I'm sure you already have several great reasons for quitting -- this would one more tiny one).

Yeah, good point. It does piss me off when I think of it that way. There were many times that I would read the warnings on the label and think, "I know the risks, and I STILL want it. The hell do they put in this shite?" Meanwhile, there's a guy sitting around somewhere in a $6k suit grinning ear-to-ear that he's got people like me funding his lifestyle. No more.

Congrats! I'm jealous - I am WEAK when it comes to that. Been dipping for 30 years, and I've blown a lot of money on it. Could've bought something nice with what I've wasted on poisoning my body.

I haven't had a dip in....... well about 2 hours.

Saw this in a buddy's truck yesterday, took a pinch. It didn't really give me the satisfaction of a dip, but could definitely see how it would help if I really wanted to quit, but I did notice a little caffeine boost which I liked. LINK
