honestly i've never used a guide for duck hunting, i've been fortunate enough to always have good property. however, i do have a buddy that has a guide service in east tx if you're interested in that

I have had good results with Eric Rue, he has a nice lodge but it is pricey, I usually just buy the hunt and stay at a motel and meet them in the AM

Erik Rue for rice field in SW La, Jeff or Nick Poe for SW La marsh (Big lake guide service). Doug's in Klondike has great marsh hunting south of Lake Arthur, never been in their rice fields. SE La Mike Smith in Delacroix or there's a few good places in Venice area too

U want Marsh n South LA or some wooded areas within a couple hours drive? There are several good places along the Mississippi from NELA to BR... On both sides

Erik Rue

Pulled the old bait and switch on me on a fishing trip. Promised me he was taking my clients and I, then sends Junior guide to take us out. He got lost in the fog in Big Lake and I had to tell him how to find his way back to the landing. Terrible experience. The Poes are a class act (at least for fishing, but friends say waterfowl as well).

I used Doug's in Klondike for teal season and would recommend them. Have a big duck trip booked with them for January.

Poes, Rue or Hackberry Rod and Gun. This time of year you could hunt and fish.

Yea, I can see that, but also have to remember the # of drunk stupid asses, with guns, he has to deal with on a daily basis, on the other hand he charges plenty of money and he choose his career, he could be a little nicer to the people that pay him. I return once or twice a year because I can count on a quality hunt, in a great location, and every guide I have been with gave 100%, but I also choose to sleep in a motel instead of the lodge,

$250 / gun for hunting only, add $175 per man for a night in the lodge with supper, breakfast, lunch and all the booze you want
