re: Anyone ever grow pineapple? - cattleman
I've grown a few but you have to be patient. Most times they'll produce in 2-3 years. But had one for 6 years before it produced. Your plant looks healthy enough it just takes time....

re: Anyone ever hunt an island blind in a rice field? - cattleman
I have hunted then and did very well. In the later part of the season ducks sometimes got very weary of levees. I had a island blind that I would only hunt when this happened and did very well. I didn't put decoys unless I hunted it and then not a bunch....

re: Aquarium owners: what size tank and what type of fish do you have? - cattleman
Have 2 medium tanks with African peacock cichlids in both . Use ehiem external filters and am very pleased with them. Tanks are 35 and 55 gallons. Don't need water changes much. I use water quality strips to determine when,...

re: Crawfish Theoretics (Round 2) - cattleman
Don't seed with white crawfish , for several reasons. It looks as though the red swamp species is already there. That shows they can acclimate to this area. White crawfish will take over and are generally thought to be of a lower quality. You have to have some type of overflow to let some water out ...

re: LSU women just got hosed. That was a foul ball. - cattleman
The home plate umpire was terrible all game, Even the announcers were saying that outside pitch that he constantly called a strike on against us was a nonhittable (sp) ball. Outside....

re: Trapping for fur - cattleman
I've got plenty of mink in my crawfish fields. Very hard to trap. I catch a few but not putting a dent in them. I don't have much trapping experience but need some for these guys....

re: Burning Sugarcane - cattleman
I'm not overly computer savvy. it's been fun. I know we weren't going to change the world here. But I did enjoy the discussion. I have about 125 crawfish traps left to put out and I need to get going. You guys have a good weekend....

re: Burning Sugarcane - cattleman
There are others ways to do things without being forced. But I see you have no concept of what that is. You are incapable of conversing intellectually. I guess I'm bitching about limited people as yourself....

re: Burning Sugarcane - cattleman
That being said it doesn't mean I want to breath that crap or want my grandchildren breathing it for a few people to save a few bucks. You've had nothing intelligent to say about the subject. It's about the money. Period....

re: Burning Sugarcane - cattleman
They're not. I work in both industries. I am not saying everything they deal will is ok to breathe. That is not allowed in the atmosphere. They have had to adapt to keep the more toxic byproducts from getting to the public. It does cost them a lot of money to do this but they have had to. ...

re: Burning Sugarcane - cattleman
I can prove it, I was there. Look I know you are cane farmer, but try to keep the conversation intellectual and not so hostile. I am in agriculture and am not hating you guys. I was just curious as to why we impose different laws on different industries. I know cane is big bucks to the state but so ...
