Picked up the echo pas system from K&D Hardware... nice people, the quick feed head is nice.
I have the power pruner, quick feed head and edger attachment. Its the smaller head, but it does the job. I used it at the camp down in Reggio... no problems, a little under powered for overgrown marsh but no problems.
Next purchase is the gas blower. FIL bought me an electric one when we moved into the new house. I have to use that for a little while

I have a Stihl BG65 blower that I bought new in '98. It has been submerged during hurricanes twice and I had to clean the mud out. The fricker is finally giving out on me. My frustration is overtaking the sentimental value now.
I am dreading buying something new, but will probably go with the same. I only expect something new to last 5 years max

I have had Echo and have a Stihl now
I prefer the Echo
Stihl does not stand behind their warranty. THeir carbs are junk and even if you use the can fuel that has no ethanol it still gums up
The old Stihls were great the last couple of years not so

Echo.
Only maintenance I've ever done on mine is push the primer bulb.

I bought and echo off eBay for $30. Replaced the fuel line and seafoam and it runs like a champ. Have had it 4 years

Another +1 for the Tanaka trimmers. Easily Best bang for your buck.
For blower I use a Husqvarna 150BT - non CARB approved version although I dont think you can get it that way anymore. I have been happy with it. I couldnt justify the extra $100 for the same size Stihl.

Stihl is good, but my Stihl trimmer has a very finicky carb (replaced two). Usually just a high speed adjustment, but can still be frustrating. And, I had a Husqvarna mower that seemed to just enjoy screwing with me. I sold it and got a Honda.
But, my Echo blower, that I got from a pawn shop, just runs.
First mowing this year I noticed I'd forgotten to drain the gas over the winter. It was not Trufuel (of which I am now an ardent user). Pumped the bulb, and fired it in less than two pulls. After blowing off the driveway, etc, I decided to just let it run out the rest of the gas. It sat on the driveway idling, and vibrating in a circle for 15 min without a hiccup, before I finally just drained it, and ran the rest out of the carb.
The same day I got the trimmer, I got an Echo chainsaw. The guy couldn't get it running, so I got it VERY cheap ($20). I intended to work on it, but ended up putting up forgot about it. That was 4 years ago.
About a month ago I thought I'd see if I could get it running. It had no gas in the tank, but there was coating of oil/sludge in it. I put some trufuel in the carb, and a little straight gas in the tank. Figured I was definitely about to foul a plug or destroy the carb but I'd at least know if it was worth fixing.
Burned the oil out, and kept on running. The rope broke and the recoil spring is worn out, so its got about 5 inches of pull at most (TWSS). But, its an ECHO, so that's enough.
I'll use my $20 chainsaw to clear shooting lanes this weekend.
Moral of the story: buy an Echo.

I have two Shindawia chain saws bought in the late 90's a weedeater and blower bought in 2005. All four are still running like new.
I do run 100% avation gas in them so that my be a factor.
