Only 1 gas station sells Ethanol free gas within 20 miles of me. It was completely flooded during the recent floods and is not closed for the foreseeable future and may never reopen. What are my options for my self propelled mower and weedeater besides driving 20 miles for gas?

Thanks

Drive 20 miles, if not you can use ethanol treatment. FWIW, I have used ethanol in a mower I have for over 10 years, no problems. Use non ethanol in boat.

Just run your equipment. It's only ever a problem if it can sit there and dry shite out

If your equipment must have ethanol consider this instead of driving:

Trufuel

just treat the gas and dont let it sit in your equipment for months and you'll be fine

Are you located in Broussard? If so there are multiple stations in the area that did not flood that have ethanol free gas.

The only one I am aware of is Stop 92 at the roundabout on Verot and Youngsville Hwy. Please name the others.

Thanks

PJ's Quickstop on HWY 182 towards Cade.

Steven Dupuis's Oil 114 Cason Rd in Broussard.

The Shell gas station on the corner of Evangeline Thruway by the airport.

Those three are probably the closest to you.

Truefuel is a good option for older 2 stroke stuff you don't run much.

Regular E10 is fine for both newish equipment and anything you run a whole bunch.

You can add water to the gas shake it up good and let it sit for a couple of hours. The water will bond to the ethanol and will settle to the bottom of the can. You can carefully and slowly pour off the gas and leave the ethanol\water mix in the can.

I have never tried this but is supposedly works.

Trufuel is expensive and one can lasts me two cuts. I use it once every three months mixed with Seafoam, but other than that, I'm a mix-my-own guy. If you don't let ethanol sit for longer than maybe two months, you'll be good

I run aviation fuel in my 2 strokes, have been for years and everything always runs great.

For my lawn mower I try to run ethanol free but if I can't get it I don't lose any sleep over it because I refill often enough.

Really making a mountain out of a molehill. Lawn equipment can handle E10 gasoline just fine, quality 2-stroke mix oil has stabilizers to deal with ethanol too.

from what I hear the 10% is ok if you burn it fairly quick. If it sits for awhile, that is where the water comes in and causes trouble.

That's only an issue in containers that don't seal well. Quality gas cans and fuel tanks should seal 100%. I have E10 fuel sitting in a jar for years without separation.
