I normally take my deer to Bergeron's, but they have just gotten too expensive. Any suggestions?

They may be a little high, but to me they are hands down the best when it comes to their sausage. If u find a cheaper place that is comparable in taste, let us know so I can have an alternative in the future.

Thats the problem. They are great, but $250 for a doe is getting crazy.

i havent brought it to them in a few years, but i remember paying around 100 for a doe. i dont really care for sausage, so i started cutting the deer up myself. $225 is horseshite. i remember when i was little, you could drop a deer off a vines in cetreville (not cleaned) and everything would be about $100

I've always found bergerons to very reasonable. Benoit's in addis was way more expensive the last time I used them. Tramonte's good as well but was $200 last deer I brought them.

I've always heard Tramonte's was high.

Maybe I need to start my own butcher shop.

Try Terry Sanders at (225) 571-2722. He is part time since he works at a plant, too. He gets his pork and seasoning from Oak Grove Smokehouse. They told me about him when they stopped pocessing deer. We've been using him for about 7 years. Good guy and honest.

Bumped to ask-if I am strictly going for smoked links, how does Tremonte's stack up to Bergerons and Beniots (my usual go-to places)?

Alternatively, might take it to Pete and have some tamales made. Finally added that 4th animal that I can play with-we eat three between seasons (teenage boys).
