A good thing. It took me until 53 and I would rather that hadn't happened.

Yes he is chipped.....

And Houdini....the odds of a layman keeping him contained are slim...

My gut reaction is, even if he is scooped up, at least he's alive and ok. But shame on any "hunter" keeping another hunter's hound. Keep your head up, Sushi.

I'm thinking the same although it won't ease things for Sushi and family.

Shot in the dark..............could you contact any vets in that area? I understand it's rural marshland but I mean the closest vets.

If someone has him they will eventually need to take him to a vet.

Another suggestion (sorry if already brought up)... have you thought about a Facebook post including the flyer you made?

I've seen people use them before and have success. If someone did take the dog, this could put some pressure on them to do the right thing.

If you already did this I would love to share it on my page.

you could put a few bucks behind facebook sponsored story/ post targeted to the zip code he was lost in
you can drill it down to even closer to maybe a bar close to where he was lost, or duck hunters in that zipcode

He put my name in the title because I live nearby and had time to go looking for Grizzly.
I hope he turns up.

Seriously, do that. It's cheap. It takes minutes. It's effective as hell.

Also have you put it on La Sportsman and the like yet? When looking for somebody on the internet it's like fishing. More lines in the water the better.

I did get a phone call this am... of course from a blocked number... saying they were fishing out there late yesterday and saw a bunch of ducks getting up for no reason of crevee bayou... which is about dead between where we were hunting and where he was reportedly seen.

and this was the last bayou I went down this weekend.

simply seeing ducks get up for no reason is not reason enough to call the calvary in...

So what's the schedule the NWR is open to not only hunting but also fishing for the coming weeks?

it's open year round to fishing but I think inside the hunting area fishing is off limits until 12 noon.

hunting is only on wed/thur and sat/sun..

MUST have a 15 year old or younger hunter with you - and only one hunting adult per youth is allowed...

there is a big area that is not open to hunting I think you can fish that any time - i think the hunting areas can only be fished after 12 noon. through jan 31..
