at the sandbar in lake maurepas a few years ago during one of the bashes...a party barge with a roof had a water slide going down to the water, only way they would let chicks slide down was with no tops on

No idea, when I get home I'll look for a photo my buddy took of the size comparison of my boat to the ships.

On another day the coastie rib hit my buddies boat and a cleat got caught on the backstay. They did a slow dance for a few minutes in circles (with the guy on still holding onto the .50 on the bow). Finally my friend said why don't you get a knife and cut the line. Was like Rambo came to town selling knives the day before. All of them raced to get thei big arse knives out.

After that we were friendly with them, just kept the distance from the ships.

Not that I've seen personally, but..

Last year we were on a guided fishing trip. Eating supper at the lodge, with the guide sitting at the table with us. A guy comes up and starts talking to him. After the guy leaves, the guide says, "that guy drowned last year." He was so drunk he fell off the boat and floated in between the dual hulls. The deckhand had to jump in and pull him out, and did CPR all the way back to the dock where the ambulance was waiting.

A year later, there he was, seemingly none the worse for it (and with a beer in hand.)

One poor bastard cranked his motor and had one of the smaller coast guard boats pull up beside him and with a .50 cal pointed at him was instructed to turn off his motor. I about shite myself, can't imagine what he did.

That is the USS Independence, one of those new Littoral Combat Ships the Navy has been developing. The Navy doesn't like any kind of boats getting near its ships nowadays.

It's overkill, sure, but hey, watchoo gonna do?

That is so fricking awesome/waste of money. Like how it was sucking all the water off the flats, would have been puckered a little if that were me.

It's the only boat that I've seen that drafts 1.5ft of water, has a 20 ton crane on deck, and can light up the night sky. I rented a couple times for work in the Cocodrie Area and the fuel bill one way was around $7k.
