Looking for recommendations for a built in grill for our new house. I don't want anything outrageous. Just something n8ce and dependable. Where's my best choice to buy one, Shoppers Choice? Located in Cenla but don't mind driving somewhere if it's worth it.

I know you say gas, but look hard, real hard at the Primo XL

Being a BGE owner I'm partial to the Egg myself

Primo XL
I cooked a brisket for 10 hours at 225 the other day. I burned less than half of my charcoal. It's amazing. And it will last forever. One of the best purchases I've made.

I really like the primo but I still use the gas* grill pretty often. The less I cook inside the better.

Purchased a Lion grill a few months back and have been very happy with it. Use it to grill veggies, burgers, etc while I have the smoker going with good stuff, like ribs or roast for pulled pork... good combination

Iam looking online at either a Lion or a Blaze. What size do you have... 40"?
I am having the brick layers leave me an open spot for an eventual purchase of a ceramic.

Check Shoppers Choice Warehouse Deals on their website. I got a Blaze grill for $500 off because it had a scratch on the bottom. Can't see it once installed and it was otherwise brand new.

How much are you looking to spend?

I did my best to talk a friend into buying a Primo/BGE before he bought a gas grill a couple of years ago. He was hard headed and didn't listen. Loved his gas grill. He knew he wanted a ceramic when he bought the gas but thought the gas would just be used more.
Couple of years later he ended up buying the Primo. About 3 months later he came to me and told me how much he wished he had listened to me as he never would have bought the gas grill and how much he loved the Primo. Said it would have saved him a bundle on the gas grill.
Buy the ceramic first and see how much you use it before the gas. Just try it.

Several years ago I checkout shoppers choice, goodwood hardware plus a few others for a gas grill. Nothing really peaked my interest. One day I was in Richards Restaurant supply in Houma looking at ice makers and noticed a grill on the floor. I could tell it was a quality grill.
I became interested, looked on line and bought one. Best constructed gas grill I have seen. It was made by Crown Veridy at

They don't use an electric igniter. A striker is needed because the igniter is the first think to break.

About to purchase the 30" blaze myself. Main selling point is blaze has a lifetime warranty on everything except the igniters. That's what sealed the deal for me. Can get them on Amazon for same price as shoppers choice and no tax
