May not be the exact type of boat launch comedy your looking for, but here goes.

I got to the launch with my kayak put all the fishing poles, anchor, cooler, etc. in the boat. I launched out into the canal and went to start paddling. At that point, I realized I didn't have my paddle. By now, I'm about 15 feet into the canal and have to start hand paddling back to the launch. It took me about 20 minutes (working against a current) and I damn near flipped three times.

The folks at the launch thought it was quite funny.

Coming to the launch one time, watched a guy going about 3 miles an hour past us, motor wide open. Three guys at the launch screaming at him and waving their hands. Asked one guy what was going on, the guy's buddy backed the boat in and pulled off, trailer still hooked up to the boat, not the truck.

Launched my boat at Toledo at the start of my vacation to set trot lines.
I asked my buddy to put in the plug ( the only chore he had to do) he said yes I did it.
About 15 minutes later as we in the front tying the trot line he never notices he's 6" deep in water.
Finally I look back to see loose baits floating and ask him if he put in the plug, to which he responds: the one on the left or the right?
There was only one open hole, since I plugged every other hole in the back, then I notice the plug on the transom.
Luckily you can put the plug in while on the water, we did and after 15 minutes of the bilge (or bilage) as he calls it and some help from a bucket we good to go...
He blamed me for not telling him which hole to plug even though he has fished in that boat over 100 times....

Ran a little speed boat on its maiden voyage from Freeport to Galveston with my uncle. Had lunch at the Galveston Yacht Basin. Got drunk as shite. There was an announcement over the PA that a vessel was taking on water. We laughed at whatever poor unlucky bastard. The PA announced again further describing the vessel...OH frick...IT WAS OURS!

Hauled arse. Forgot to put in the plug.

Grabbed some beer mugs from guys at the nearest table (with beer still in them), jumped down in the boat and started bailing as fast as we could.

A few years ago I was launching my boat in my back yard and everything went fine. I thought I had done everything needed. Boat and trailer was in the water but the boat wasn't moving off the trailer. Some water coming over the transom bc of a tug boats wave. Then it hit. Left the fricking transom straps on!

My biggest frick up by far in a boat to date....

Took my future father in law and brother in law fishing while still in school. The sac a lait were just jumping in the boat, thought I'll take them and impress them with my fishing prowess...

About a mile from the launch my fender blows off my trailer my FIL says that's a bad omen... Boy was he right..

Get to the launch, put plug in the boat, everything we need back the boat in. However some idiot left his trailer blocking the best part of the ramp so I used the part to the side of it. Backed my trailer off the end of the ramp. Get the boat off the trailer pull forward and realize that we are stuck on the ramp. After being very gentle get the trailer off the end of the ramp with truck. Pull trailer out of water axel is bent on trailer, I get out to look at damage and as soon as I do I hear the distinct sound of rocks popping under a tires from movement.... I run dive into the truck as it's rolling past me. Hit the brakes at water begins to POUR into the back of my old GMC Jimmy, it looked like a scene out of Titanic. I managed to get the truck stopped with the engine out of the water back end of truck submerged all my turkey hunting stuff floating past me in the driver's seat..

Managed to get a farmer to pull me out, he helped me re weld the axle so I could pull boat home. As you can imagine I still catch hell about this story to this day...

I hope someone enjoys my misery...20 years later I think I am still scarred from that incident.

I've been with a cousin when the transom straps were left on. Took us a few minutes to realize why the boat wasn't floating

Went fishing with a friend and his friends boat up north. First time I was introduced to a trailer with rollers. Boat is a 24' deep vee, I unhook boat like I've always done on a skid trailer while everyone else is getting ready. About halfway backing down the launch the boat takes off the trailer hits the launch and slides about 15' on concrete. Luckily motor was up and didnt hit, had to push boat another 10' to float it the re-trailer ed and luckily only some gelcoat damage on the bottom of transom and some minor scraping from the concrete.

sitting at the launch i see about a 24 foot yellowfin. we were just getting back from duck hunting in january, so the tide was LOW. NO ONE was in the boat to take it off the trailer, it took 3 people to grab ropes to pull it off. the guy ended up backing the trailer too far and off the ramp since the tide was low, and the yellowfin scraped bottom because of the 3 people pulling it off with ropes....

about 3 weeks ago we saw someone putting a blue wave up and hearing bad scraping sounds and knocking. first, the guy didnt put up his trim tabs and they hit the trailer. We then hear him yelling at his wife to "crank it up", since he couldnt get the boat on the trailer. I see her cranking as fast as she could, only to realize she was cranking the jack on the tongue up, not the winch

One of my favorite pastimes is sitting at Sand Dollar and watch people launch boats, it can be quite hilarious. But I also hate being the guy in the boat while everyone is watching

This past 4th of July I went back home to the Mecca and took the tribe out on the Washitaw River which was fun, but I had more fun spending an hour or so at the launch watching dumb fricks trying to back their shite down the ramp.

I always find myself grabbing the jack up handle first and cranking like mad for about 2 seconds when I realize what I'm doing

This Sunday on Lake Pelba in the basin my buddy and I went out on our yaks. This guys was laughing at us for some reason and yelling left right left as we paddled. Jokes on him because his sun glasses came off his head and he fell trying to get them and rolled down the launch.

Launched my dad's Pro Master at Joes Landing and it had been sitting awhile. Before going out I drained the old fuel and added new. Ran it in the driveway and all was good. Greased the steering fitting and all. Well I never tried turning the wheel as it had locked up. Well we launch the boat and I can't steer. I had to lay down on the back and push with my feet while two buddies (total weight around 525) hung on the wheel. It finally broke loose and I greased it up and we were good.

I've had to pull two vehicles out of the water. One was a S-10 Chevy that had the cargo box half submerged. The second was a full-sized Ford sedan that went completely under with engine running when the driver jumped out with the car still in reverse to help his son load the boat in the wind. I pulled up after they walked to the farm and the only thing sticking out of the water was the radio antenna.

Last year my FIL put the plug in the wrong hole while preparing his boat the night before we went out.

Launched into Caddo Lake and stopped at the first spot for bream. Immediately started catching them, and immediately noticed water in the floor of the boat.

I hung myself over the back of the boat, halfway in the water, and noticed the plug was not in the plug hole, it was in the plumbed line.

We hauled arse back to the launch and quickly trailered the boat, let it drain and hit the water again.

Also last year, we were about to get yak life when this cat let his truck go past the drop off

LSURoss was there to witness. I backed my truck up and broke 2 straps along with ripping his air dam off. We tried for about 30 minutes to get him out with no luck. Luckily one of his friends was on the lake and was able to get him out somehow.
