the worst i've seen was a guy lost his S-10 at the pigeon landing. parking break didn't hold, truck/trailer/boat rolled back and under. the boat and trailer pulled loose from the ball and kinda floated. the intercoastal was flowing really fast and the truck just sank and faded away. the look on the guys face was epic/sad. all of us there were just standing around looking dumbfounded.

i launched my boat at verret landing in the rain tied the boat off and waited in my truck for about 20 minutes. when the rain let up i went to my boat and the automatic bilge pump was pumping water in a stream like a fire hose. my 15 foot la traveler had a pump rated for a 26 foot boat and had just a small amount of water in it. had i installed a smaller pump, i'm sure the boat would have sunk.

Never ran right after that

Just remembered this story. My old man's had a friend he knew since high school that would fish together. Anyway years later after my dad passed away, the old friend wanted to take the bay boat out at our camp in bay st louis. I'm just starting college do I couldn't supervise and my mom gave him the keys. He tries launching the boat at our house and the trailer has rollers. You guessed it, the back end hits concrete on the way in the water. Best part is the sob never offered to pay for the damage. I ended up paying for it.

Found this gem on the bourg Larose highway

edit: this was right by bollingers. they had some people crawfishing further up the road, our guess is they tried to turn around to go check them or ticket them.

Trying to reconstruct that one in my head. Any idea how that went down?

I had gotten back to the dock at the public launch in Houma with my 3 or 4 yr old son. I grab my bow line and climb out to moor it to the cleat. The line snagged on something in the boat and slips out of my hand. There goes the boat and my son drifting across the canal. Luckily, a hottie in a bikini on a wave runner let me jump on with her to go get him.

"he pumped 20 gal of fuel into a rod holder"

WE fished out of Blackie Campo's in February and the guy there told us it has happened several times. I asked what did they do and he said they tell the guys to GTFO of there!

Said it before and I'll say it again, I still laugh my arse off when pumping gas into a boat now thinking of it. The honesty was unreal. "Had Spicer's shut down for about an hour."

My nephew told me about one of the times at Blackie's when they got someone to pull the gas filled boat down and cross the canal from the marina!

ETA, I'm just glad my ole boat has no rod holders, other than the plastic ones I installed!

Getting ready to launch we watched a Truck spinning the tires for about 10 minutes trying to pull a large half sunk boat out of water. When we were ready to launch I walked over to them and asked if they would put the truck in four wheel drive so they can pull it out of the water. The look on his face was priceless. And he pulled it out without spinning a tire.

I launched once without the plug, had to drop the hammer right at the launch to get on step before it sunk, sent my buddy to the bow to rock back and forth, wasn't working so I left the wheel and went on the bow to rock back and forth, it eventually planed and ran the water out, other buddies were in a boat behind us killing themselves laughing

I was at Falgout Canal once and an old man was launching his boat, got out to push the boat off the trailer, closed his door, puppy lab immediately jumped on the arm rest and locked the door, keys in truck, engine running

When I left the poor old bastard was still trying to get the dog to jump up and down hoping he'd hit the door lock again

I watched a guy sink a cigarette boat at the old launch by the old Fitzgerald's in West End. Quite funny.

I would have loved to see a guy trying to get his pup to unlock the door. I would have been in tears.

This is exactly the kind of thing my dog would do to me .

I have also launched a boat without the plug in it. I learned that day to always put my own plug in.
