Yeti or Engel. They keep ice about the same and both are sturdy.

Don't waste your time with K2 or Pelican the latches on both are doghsit.

Got 2 Yeti 65's in my bay boat. Didnt look into others, The Yetis fit in the the two spots in my boat perfectly. One under leaning post and one in front of boat. Great coolers and bad arse stickers.

The Yeti 65 on the front is the same height as my front deck so it serves as my fish box and extends my deck area.

Isn't it only like a 50 qt though?

Academy makes a cooler under the Magellan brand. It's half the price of the yeti. The one I looked at was a 50 quart for $200 compared to about $400 for a comparable yeti.

I don't own one but looked it over at one of the stores and I would definitely give it a shot were I in the market for one.

I haven't had any problems with latches on Pelicans.

I have yeti and Pelican plus a few more similar brands. I use the pelican for hunting and the yeti for fishing. The pelican will be heavier and taller. Most people can't sit on it because their feet won't touch the ground. The hard handles on the pelican can't be beat when lifting a full loaded chest. After three years no problems with the latches.

For constant opening/closing like on a boat the yeti is the route to go. The yeti has the best gasket for an ice chest. You can flip it over and it won't leak.

Been having my pelican like 3-4 years, haven't had an issue either.

Wouldn't recommend the k2. We used to sell them, but they have issues to where if you stand/sit on them for extended periods of time, the lid will start to "sink."

sit or stand on that thing for a season and let me know how it hold up. The best part about these expensive roto molded coolers is the fact that you can use them as a seat or platform and they wont cave in our warp. That being said, go with the ones mentioned if it will stay in your boat.

I have a Grizzly and a Yeti. Bought one, the other was a gift.

Pro's:
-Sturdy enough to stand on or fish from
-They don't slide around in the truck or boat
-Plenty of heavy duty tie down locations for strapping to ATV, fourwheeler, boat or truck
-Drain hole on Grizzly is about 2" which is a great feature. The drain is threaded and heavy duty
-Hinges and straps will last many yrs vs my typical year or so with ordinary ice chests
-Buys you about an extra 24 hours for beer & bag of ice when opened regularly
-Buys you an extra 48 hours for meat/fish or situations where it isn't opened regularly.
-Handles are much better. Clutch when a full ice chest

CONS:
-price point is 3-4x that of Igloo, Coleman etc
-Even empty they are heavy
-They hold less than comparably sized (external specs) ordinary ice chests

Would I recommend one? Yeah.
Which - Grizzly
Why - I prefer the rope handles, American Made, Warranty and drain hole

I have a yeti 65 under my lean post, works great, I also have a yeti 75 up front for fish. it serves as an extended deck as well. holds 100 trout and ice. get whatever is in your budget. most of the expensive coolers are the same just few different features. I will say the pelicans are nice, my buddy has two but they are heavier.

I have the Pelican 65. I've had it for 3 or 4 years now. So far I haven't had any issues with it at all.

I would definitely recommend it.

Pros: Lifetime warranty unlike the Yeti.
holds ice really well.
extremely sturdy
Cheaper than the yeti and can be found on sale.

Cons: like all the others, it's heavy as can be.
