New to birding so I don't have all of them ID'ed yet but here is what I have for sure seen so far (in Ocean Springs, MS):

cardinals
mourning doves
blue jays
blue grosbeaks
Eastern towhee
Rufous and ruby-throated hummingbirds out the wazoo (as many as 8 at one time chasing each other between the two feeders)

Wild ducks, flying right over the house and tree tops. They've figured out it's safe in the city limits.

Two tree ducks flew over my house the other day at dusk. I've never seen these before in Baton Rouge, but couldn't tell if they were Fulvous or Black-Bellied.

One of my favorites of the sparrow clan is the fox sparrow. I love watching them around a feeder where my mom lives. Having lived with us on the lake here and watching all the waterfowl, including resident Canadas, many different ducks, pelicans cormorants, coots etc., when she went into a nursing home we just had to put feeders right outside her windows. We have seen a lot of the birds listed here at thos feeders. Also hummingbirds.

I think I just had a Peregrine Falcon sitting on my ledge at work. Is that what it was?

Wife got me hooked. We attract most of what's been posted.

But, my favorite, are the chimney swifts. I have two chimneys that I leave uncovered for their nests. They show up about a week after our last fire and leave right before the next fall fire. You can hear them, but it's subtle.

Most of their nesting sites are disappearing due to less fireplaces, and the ones that are there, usually are covered.

They are the best mosquito catchers around. Their arial maneuvers are like fighter jets. Awesome to sit on the deck and watch them.

Also have a couple of barn swallows that nest under my deck. They love when I cut the grass and spook bugs.

My chimney is covered and they've been returning and nesting in it for over 35 yrs.

That is definitely a Peregrine falcon. That is such a cool thing to see. I had heard of people spotting them in downtown Shreveport but have never seen a photo of one. I'm surprised it is around these parts this time of year. There might be a nest somewhere on one of the buildings as this is the tail end of their nesting season.

Thanks for posting!

We have 4 purple Martin families in a house in our backyard right by the water and see barn swallows and swifts doing their thing also. Coolest birds out here are the Ospreys . Don't see them often but it's atreat when we do. I saw one with a huge shad flying toward bAyou Maco where I'm sure there is a nest.
Oh, and there are supposed to be 3 bald eagle nests on the bayou. We see the occasional eagle also. Mrs. Coupon and a granddaughter saw one fly down to the lake right in front of the car and nail a fish. Got it on the bank and started eating it.
I love it out here.
