Went to the ENT the other day b/c i always have to pop my ears. Did a hearing test and found out that i have some hearing loss due to loud noises i.e. hunting...
it isn't too bad, but a little further along than what is considered normal hearing loss.
I want to get some in ear protection, but i hate wearing plugs b/c i can't hear birds moving, quacking etc...
Those who use them did y'all get them from an audiologist or buy some from a company online? They seem to get pretty pricey pretty quick.... but can't get hearing back once its gone....
sportear

are these sport ears any good?

I use howard leight in the deer stand and on the lawn mower i have been very satisfied . The first pair of walkers game ears was great until he sold out and then the quality went down hill.

SiCo Salvo 12 with over the ear electronic muffs like Sordins. It will cost quite a bit but to preserve hearing, I would say it is worth it.

Caldwell® EMax™ Low-profile Muffs

Bought a couple pair of them from Sportman Guide. Used them twice so far and seem to work fine. First pair I have ever used so I can't compare them to anything else.

MSA Sordins if you want the real deal. Costs around $300, but they're great

I started a thread telling everyone about a deal on them and I just got laughed at for paying that much for ear protection. Oh well

don't want to wear muffs. I want in ear..... i don't mind spending a little money on them. bid on some the other night at the bella bowman ball that a local audiologist had at the silent auction, but didn't get them and i can't remember the name of the audiologist to call and see.

shite carson.... i'm looking at spending way more than that
figured i'd be spending 1000-1500. if i wouldn't have any loss of hearing i'd probably spend less, but i need to keep what i have.

I got ESP ear buds last yr and used them this season.

The first 'cut' they made of my ear mold didn't really cut out any sound. The second fit cuts out about 90% of sounds. I have debated going back and getting them refit a third time but I deemed them sufficient to hunt with last season.

Otherwise they are fine, don't ever come close to ever falling out even when I get poked in the head with sticks and shite (which is important when hunting over water in thick cover). I find the sound quality a little 'tinny' but it is enough for me to hear the wings whistling before I see the ducks coming, so I guess I am satisfied. $900 though for the analog, cheapest pair they have. Only got one set of ears though so I think it's worth it.

If you can find some of the nacre pro on eBay they would be a great option.

Only bad part is they use a battery pack that will clip to your belts. A bunch of guys use them in competitions and they work really well.

The used ones on eBay come from drmo so they will be used, but for 150-250 they are a great option.

I was going to buy a set when they were cheaper but I already have the msa Sordins and can't justify spending that when I have an awesome set of muffs.
