I don't think your wants matter in that scenario.

In the eyes of the law, no, my 'wants' don't matter. I was just giving my opinion.

The investigation is complete? Can you link to where it has been ruled an accident?

How do you know there wasn't a motive? You don't until it plays out and even if it were an accident I think charges can and should be filed.

And this just makes you sound ignorant. Obviously, if there was motive and he killed his cousin on purpose, he should be charged. But that's not what we're talking about here.

You said this was definitely negligence and stupidity that led to an accident, a statement that you apparently pulled out of your arse since AFAIK the official investigation isn't complete.

Even if it is determined to be an accident, I'm not sure a person just gets to say 'oops' after shooting and killing another person.

So you think that is all the shooter has going thru his mind today?

I truly don't understand hunting accidents like this, but I do know that locking this kid up does not make my family one bit safer.

There's no point in even trying to have an intelligent conversation with people like you.

Here is probably the root of the problem

Earlier in this thread you have Hunt66 educating his 18 year olds this morning, and then you have some kids that hit the woods with very little understanding of what they are doing, not saying this is exactly the case, but it seems likely that not enough time was spent in the stand with this young man.

This and the fact that in 99% of these incidents the deceased wasn't wearing orange.

Not participating in this thread I did hear something very interesting about what happened in the shooting here.

Perhaps you could remind the people using words like moron and ignorant to describe a poster they disagree with.

That's tame. If this were the OT I'd call you a butt-fricking dumb piece of shite. But this isn't the OT, so I won't call you that...

This

Itook my 2 girls this weekend and was telling them the importance of some type of light at night leaving the stand. They pointed out that it was only family hunting in the area and I pointed out that you never know who is around. Prayers for the family
