For some reason right now I have an urge to purchase an AK47. I am currently looking at this one:

LINK

Does anybody have any experience with this brand? Are there any other brands to look at? I want to stay below $800.

The milled century guns like that one aren't bad, stay away from the stamped RAS-47 though. The newer WASR-10s are pretty good, but hard to find right now. DDI is making some really nice AKs for around your budget but they were difficult to find in stock even before the recent shooting.

Clyde Tipton texted me this

The century arms is lower tier. For an extra $100 you can get a Yugoslavian.

Clyde was banned this morning for an alligator meme that was miscontrued.

Keep him in your thoughts and well wishes.

Same.

I showoff my ARs, but I grab my AKs when I want a truck gun or head to the camp.

Milled is considered better quality and more heavy duty. 99% of AKs are stamped and they work just fine.

Unless you go full auto, stamped is perfectly fine.

Most stamped AKMs are excellent. All of my AKs are stamped receiver guns. It's just the case with the century arms stamped receiver RAS-47 that seem to have issues. The milled version that century produces (like the link in the OP) has gotten better reviews.

All of the WASR-10s are sold by century. They are built in Romania, then century imports them and converts to accept standard magazines, then century sells them to distributors.
