I feel the same. No more saltwater fishing for the rest of my life would be miserable.

not being able to leave your city is a pretty big deal, though. What would you do, just have some big complex and drink and hang out by a pool all the time? I would feel trapped. Would not do.

Don't you think your relationships with them would change once you get viewed as their personal ATM?
I think you'd actually lose some true friendships, and would have a lot of new "friends"

I would be fine being their personal ATM in terms of buying them houses and paying for private schools and I would know who my friends were before I was rich.

With a billion dollars, you can

Buy the town.

Change the town.

I'd take the money. Blow through it. Then leave.

If a town can be bought in its entirety for a billion dollars, it's probably tiny and shitty. No thanks.

Like never ever leave for any reason? Not for a hospital visit or a vacation? Not for a wedding or funeral? Not tk go to my kids college graduation or fishing with my dad?

Yeah I'd take the money.

Might be a bad deal if you do it on the coast where hurricanes come

I live in a pretty nice suburb of about 7,000 people. I could buy it and have plenty left over. I'd be on the water too.

But are we saying that you're suburb is the "town" you live in, or the entire metro area of whatever city your burb is in?

So If I live in Metry, can I go to New Orleans?

I live in New Orleans, I'd do it.

It would be really tough, because I love traveling but that kinda money changes your entire lineage. I could live a great life in New Orleans and my kids could live a great life wherever they decide to live.

Yes I would, and then I would have a 10 dollar city limits sign made up and ensure that my aide brings that with us everywhere we go.

Problem solved.
