Does Grand Isle count for New Orleans? It is in Jefferson Parish.

Unfortunately, grand isle is not New Orleans. You can still do some fishing in lake pontchartrain though.

You get Laplace but no north shore.

so our metro area is Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Tammany, St. Charles, and St. John the Baptist?

it would suck not having mountains or a beach but those parishes are everything I need

I think metro area is reasonable for cities,

I don't, that's not the question.

If you live 30 miles outside new orleans...sorry, you don't get to claim new orleans.

In other words, "completely arbitrary" -

The judge is open to hearing everyone's argument. Unfortunately he thinks grand isle is not part of New Orleans, and too many people live in the north shore without interacting with New Orleans. The north shore is self sustaining and a very desirable area to live in and of itself.

Vegas can be the loneliest place in the world for some people, not for me though.

But, if I were in Metairie, I could stretch out to North Shore, Hammond, Laplace, Grand Isle AND New Orleans, right?

My way would be "hour on the train or hour in the car" and we wouldn't have to do this case-by-case picking peanuts out of turds.

Hell yea I'd do it. Any town, anywhere. You could put me in the middle of the 9th ward and I'd build a fortress around myself and gentrify the entire area

That's what doesn't make sense. I bet if you asked "I live on the northshore, do I get New Orleans?", he would have probably said yes. Same with Grand Isle.

What is the penalty if I don't follow the rules? I am pretty sure with a billion dollars I would feel like Tony Montana and nobody would frick with me. So I would take the money hire a bunch of ex military guys to watch my back and leave whenever I wanted to.

I tried, but his thread, his rules.

I'm taking the money, of course, but it just seems a little arbitrary across the board.
