Here's he thing. 100% of the new taxes may very well go to roads and bridges being repaired. But I bet the actual budget will not increase for repairing roads and bridges. Somehow some of be budget already allocated to roads and bridges will be removed and replaced with this new tax money.
Same reason every election has an increased millage for FD or PD. That is how politicians line their pockets

Yes.
But I doubt a majority of voters would.

No, they promised us 100 percent of the gambling revenue would go to schools. Of course, it did and then they transfer an equal amount out of the revenue to support their pet causes.
so their promises mean nothing and no.

Nope. Just make sure the taxes that we've been paying at the pump go to the right place.

I wouldn't. State of Georgia upped their fuel taxes to a straight .26 cents increase on all fuels in 2015 for infrastructure projects. We are going on two years and they haven't done jack shite to fix the highways unless you live around Atlanta. It is just another way for state politicians to add some more money to their pockets.

They won't allocate it to just roads.
Some fricked up moron will try to get something out of it.

No. Louisiana doesn't have a revenue problem, it's a spending problem.
Throwing money at something doesn't make it better. See the Washington DC school system

100% of the revenue would go to roads and bridges. However money that is currently going to roads and. Ridges would be diverted elsewhere. In the end we are paying and extra 17 cents per gallon and we would still have shitty roads.

No, but I would support the 89% of the current tax that doesn't go towards roads and bridges be properly allocated. 17 more cents would put Louisiana as one of the highest gas taxed states in the country. We make the gas here. Why in the hell would we have to pay so much just to reach the national average in road quality. Shocker, there are a bunch of rats in the LA government.

Nope, make cuts in the waste first. This will either raise prices or put people out of business. I know we could not survive without a price increase in product.
Currently have 15 trucks, we pay $0.17 per mile in road taxes directly related to trucks, NOT counting, taxes on tires, parts, repairs, parish and local permit fees, etc... The suggested increase in fuel taxes and the 50% increase in road permits would put us at $0.25 per mile.
Th state police got much of the money from the last gas tax, let them suck it up and go to the local casinos to save money, instead of vegas

1% for actual roads and bridges
Hey, it's all for Roads and bridges!

frick no. They don't efficiently use the tax dollars they take now. What makes you think this will be any different? We will be the highest taxed state in the country. frick these people.

Yes but you'd still have those lazy asses building the roads so it would take forever
