If less people had them I feel like the cops would less likely be on edge.

They would start assuming that you are reaching for your wallet in your pants instead of a gun.

Why? Most of the ppl that shoot/kill cops do so with illegally obtained guns to begin with. Banning them wouldn't change that in the least.

This is a nonsensical statement.

So what does it mean if the gun was legally sold from a distributer to a buyer, and later the gun was stolen prior to sale on the black market?

I guess t was illegally obtained from someone who illegally obtained a legally sold gun?

Regardless, even if all guns were outlawed tomorrow there would still be plenty of guns on the black market.

Seriously, though...if guns were banned, how would all of the illegally obtained guns be confiscated? The ppl that have these in their possession certainly aren't going to just hand them over.

And if you ban something, almost certainly a black market for the banned item will develop.

if that weapon was never legally sold, how would it end up in the criminals hands?

Lol, Most policies aren't enacted with the hope that change will be at the snap of ones fingers. What would be the point of having the word 'Progress' if everyone thought this way? Not sure why this is here.

Thank you captain obvious. It was simply an example that relied on hyperbole.

And to rebut your earlier point: illegal weapons can and have been smuggled across borders. Don't act like the black market for weapons would dry up because they could no longer be stolen in the US.

You've made this insane assumption that outlawing guns would mean less people would own them. Do you have any idea how many guns are already on the streets? It would take generations before that changed and then guns would go the way of drugs and be dealt on the streets. Haven't you seen Sons of Anarchy?
