Disgusting. Was suspicions of something like this. Nanette was a very nice person.

"The wife of a St. Tammany Parish fire chief whose remains were found in the couple's burned out Lacombe home last week died from a gunshot wound, the sheriff's office reported Friday (July 21). The death of Nanette Krentel, wife of St. Tammany Parish Fire District 12 Chief Stephen Krentel, is being investigated by the sheriff's office Major Crime Unit."

I don't get how people in St Tammany are just sitting back while the murder rate sky rockets up there.

You would think the fricking fire chief would be the first one to know that shooting her and trying to cover it up with a fire wasn't going to fool anyone.

This doesn't make sense. The fire chief would know that that a fire wouldn't hide the evidence of the death by gunfire.

The fact that one murder counts as a "skyrocketing" rate kind of tells you everything you need to know, right?

That usually happens when the population increases, but by all accounts crime is much lower in Mandeville, Madisonville, and Covington than just about anywhere.

Your parish is on track to double the murder rate for this year.

Already more murders than any year for at least a decade.

So prior to the autopsy, did they have any idea how the fire started?

I have no dog in this fight, but I think the fire chief is in the clear. Break in gone wrong.

And just bring stuff along to set a fire afterwards? If it were a break in gone wrong they would have gotten the hell out of dodge after the shooting.

Id rather live in a parish where the murder rate doubles from 10 to 20 than live in a parish where it gets cut in half from 300 to 150

Just sayin...
