Why Are Diamonds Still Considered So Valuable By Some?

You'd have to be hiding under a rock to have missed that one company (DeBeers) has basically monopolized the entire industry and controls practically all supply. The industry has been stigmatized for what amounts to enslaving vulnerable laborers and forcing them to work in horrid nightmarish working conditions. Thousands of people have been murdered in the name of vicious mining of diamonds that really can't be considered rare at all. There was even a movie made about it. Seems like a terrible way to symbolize the love you have for your significant other, yet people still fall for the bullshite diamond market advertising day after day, year after year. Do you walk around with a shameless pride in the diamond you wear regardless of this?

Getting married huh? Go ahead and bite the bullet and get her a real diamond mined in slave mines awash in blood.

There are also industrial applications for diamonds that make them more valuable than other rare stones. Demand drives market value.

Sure, but the facts are out there and have been for years. How is a diamond still considered the go-to symbol for love and marriage considering the facts that are widely known at this point.

You're the first one to figure this out. Shame on everyone else. Good on you.

You know what, you're right.
Guess it's time for me to get rid of all my diamond chains, watches and earrings now.

Because no one gives a shite that people are murdered and slaves mine them etc. They look nice and still have value.

women crave attention. the marketing for diamonds is always geared towards owning diamonds= more attention
Diamonds aren't like a boat, ATV, or house. They server absolutely no purpose whatsoever than attention whoring by women.

Because chicks love bright, shiny status symbols that they can wear on their hands 24/7.

Well, to be fair, not everyone has falling for this genius marketing. Just a certain gender who demands diamonds for every occasion.
Hell, jewelers are now even selling relatively cheap and extremely abundant industrial brown diamonds to retards who are willing to pay big money for "chocolate diamonds"

Who would want a brown diamond? It's like someone dropped a diamond in poo.
