the original store? it's the one north of UT campus. was a medium-sized wooden structure - kind of shabby looking if I remember. Had mostly UT college students and professors shopping there in the early days.

ah you're right. Almost went there by mistake. We werent sure what it was other than something affiliated with WF. Sorry, I meant the main WF in downtown Austin.

no problem - I don't know if the original structure is still standing or not - they've torn down so many old buildings in Austin. I think this is a pic of the one I used to shop at - the first WF or one of the first.

so what is your solution to these fallacies?

I love when this question gets tossed out there.

I don't know, man. We're pretty entrenched into this current system, and everything is kind of tied into the current set up, there's only a few big companies and the power structure has such as strong hold, I really don't know what the solution is..

I think awareness is always a good place to start, if the majority of people aren't aware of certain things there is no chance for change.

We have guys obsessed with trying to find some pill or chemical to help them from losing hair, or graying, or aging.. not many guys are really dedicated to heath and eating the things that have been provided to us from nature that keep you looking young and healthy.

A lot of women are more concerned with counting calories than counting chemicals and unnatural ingredients.

There needs to be a paradigm shift, when you really start take health serious a major change happens and you view food totally different than you did before.

I like this meme.

I assume people can deduce what I mean when I say chemicals or gmo's. I've worked on an organic farm, and an organic vineyard, please stop trying to nit pick my posts.

You can lose weight eating processed donuts if you count the calories. Add in a vitamin and you're good to go.

I'd disagree, we used to have very diverse farms, today they not, it's miles and miles of corn.

This isn't something I'm going to dedicate my night to, but there is an obscene amount of problems caused by our modern agriculture system.

I mean...not really

plenty of organic pesticides have been shown to have worse carcinogenic effects than the evil modern pesticides

Being able to lose weight has very little to do with your health.

You can eat a donut for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and lose weight.

The biggest one is feeding all these poors. This country would be great without the bottom 80%.

I think, I'm not certain, but I believe there is an option to not use pesticides. And a lot of these problems are a reflection of the system, pesticides are needed on these huge mono farms. Nature has a way protecting itself when it's more diverse.

wow you're really beating a dead horse here. It's a shame you can't express yourself in any non-infantile manner.

There's more diverse farms than ever. It's just an international market now, people grow what is profitable in their country.

The government has made corn profitable here, so there's lots of it here. That doesn't mean that diversity doesn't exist, there's just no reason for every local farm to grow every product especially when you can get it from somewhere else cheaper.

I understand this and in the utopian society you are talking about it sounds great, but there is a reason why the current farming practices are the way they are. The farmers didn't just get together one day and decide start with current practices. These things are done because we need to do it in order to keep up with the demand.
