I refer to it as whole paycheck. They don't give anything away in there except cheese samples. Though it is the only source in town that I know of for Maine Root ginger beer.

WF has a great selection of meats (not as much seafood) and at a decent price.

depends what you get. some stuff is decent priced but some is expensive as hell. was in there the other day and salmon was $16.99/lb

They arent fed anti-biotics either they claim. I'm not sure what that means for me, but it doesn't factor into my decision making process.

Completely understand this, which is why I go to WF or TJ's maybe twice a month.

You don't understand where I'm coming from, which is no real fault of your own, I haven't really explained it. And I don't know if I really feel like attempting it right now.

Yea, they're not the best place to go for seafood. I bought two chicken fryers last week for 2.99/lb and each was ~3lbs. That was a damn good price for soon to be smoked chicken

They're fed grains. Which is not what they're designed to eat.

SFP, I'm sure it'll grow on me but as of right now, that new Avi sucks.

Also, is it really the worst thing in the world for people to be overzealous about what they eat and how they exercise? What's worse - people jumping on the crossfit bandwagon and eating paleo, or people sitting on their fat asses and taking no interest in what they put in their bodies?

WF is nothing like it was originally. I lived 1/2 mile from the very 1st store in Austin. It started out basically as a co-op. You had to purchase a membership card to shop there. Had a pretty eclectic group of members when it started.

could be(probably) wrong, but the food you feed your dog is probably better for them than the what they'd naturally eat wich is just about anything

It completely changes the ph of the animal contributing to a host of problems and disease.

The grain screws up their digestive tracks.

Meat from grain fed animals is far less nutritious. An unhealthy animal makes unhealthy meat. But, thanks to the profit motive, feeding animals grain creates more money for the industry and cheaper meat for the consumer.

The problem with the free range argument is that if all livestock were free range then supply of meat would reduce drastically. There's simply not enough land to have entirely free range livestock. So if you really have that big of a problem with grain fed livestock then you should be a vegetarian. I'm not giving up my meat though.
