I think, I'm not certain, but I believe there is an option to not use pesticides. And a lot of these problems are a reflection of the system, pesticides are needed on these huge mono farms. Nature has a way protecting itself when it's more diverse.

while that is true, because I don't use pesticides in my garden, you are truly naive if you think the large farms selling to WF or TJ are not using pesticides

. The farmers didn't just get together one day and decide start with current practices. These things are done because we need to do it in order to keep up with the demand.

Bull.

We subsidize corn and have a surplus of it.

Corn is in everything in the middle aisles at the grocery store. It's in all the fake food. It's a cheap way for food companies to make Fruit Loops and cookies and cheez its and all kinds of useless crap.

This is a bit frustrating, I literally said those big mono farms have to use pesticides. Come on, try to be a little more civil.

Please try to grow a commercial staple crop in south louisiana and not use pesticides. North Cali? Sure not here

It’s that whenever we talk about science and society, it helps to keep two rather humbling premises in mind: very few of us are anywhere near rational. And pretty much all of us are hypocrites.

I'm not talking about the big mono farms

I'm talking about the big, but probably not as big, vegetable farms that sell to WF and TJ

talk about frustrating...

I don't recall saying that the farms that sell to WF's and TJ's don't use pesticides. You were informing me that they probably do in a way that was like a counterpoint, which was weird.

I just ate Mexican, give me a bit and I will make you some "organic" refries beans. They're chock full of fiber and protein, contain no gluten, but is made of my recycled pooten.
