Yeah my landline is bundled into my COX stuff. It would actually cost me more money to get rid of it(I lose my bundle discount). Cheaper to keep it for now.

Been over 10yrs since I had a landline. I don't care if they're bundling it and it cost more to not have it - I still don't want it. I have a cell phone with me 24/7. Call that or don't call. It's really that simple.

I had this for a couple of years, but my internet is way too unreliable. I got tired of it and went back to the regular land line.

A lot of people don't seem to realize that when they get telephone service from U-Verse or Cox that it's VoIP, not a land line and that other VoIP providers offer far better service at much lower rates. The one I use is CallCentric and I recommend them highly.

Sorry about using the landline term losely. I only want ONE phone and that is a cell phone. Anything else for residential use is dumb. I have a A landline at work on my desk and still only use my cell.

I don't. Just left Verizon because I needed to replace my phone and they will only mail you one - unless you want to pay full price if contract not up. After explaining thoroughly my situation and need for a phone she asked if there was a number that I could be reached at.

We had a house fire almost 2 years ago. The parts that didn't have to be completely rebuilt still has to be gutted and rewired. I told the electrician not to run any phone line at all. So I don't have a single phone jack in my house. He said that's real common now.

I am not quite that dumb. I have a true landline, not VoIP with AT&T. I do not have Cox or U-Verse.

Have vonage for about $30/mo

It's good to have here, especially in a hurricane region. Cell coverage is non-existent then and the home phone typically works through them.

Your alarm can probably be upgraded to cellular monitoring for about $200

I still have one. Learned my lesson after Katrina when cellphone coverage was knocked out. Landline still worked.

I home-office (hate that term) and cell service in the casa sucks. Keep a land line for business.
