Who remembers the "Snake Farm" on Airline Hwy in Laplace?

They had a few snakes and alligators, plus a chimp that would sling shite at people.

My last remembrance of the place was early 80's.

A lot of that stuff was released and ended up back in River Forest where I grew up.

One of those places that I always looked for, as well as the many billboards before you got there, but never visited.

I think in later years there was also one on U.S. Hwy 190 near Erwinville. Then the place became a church.

People would give the chimp cigarettes. Pretty stupid & cruel when you think about it now.

Same here. No way my parents would have ever stopped there. We were always on our way to Airline Motors.

One of my favorite bars was across from Airline Motors... Bum's Tavern...

Snake farm was cool as a 9-10 year old. That gorilla freaked me out.

It was still there in the late 2000s to my knowledge.

ETA: nvm, i was thinking of the one on 190.
