Illinois is corrupt as frick. Don't let that fool you. U of Illinois got into trouble recently for politicians kids being admitted without the ACT scores and gpa's. Also were admitting foreign and out of state students over illinois citizens for that extra tuition money. May be a fan of their sports, but frick that school.

LSU as a whole has been listed as one of the best value universities in the country. Not to mention specific colleges, departments, and programs are growing and gaining more attention. Specifically those in Business (CIA, Disaster Management) and Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical)

State of Louisiana has seen an in-migration of educated workers in the last 4 years...so your theory is debunked.

I stay away from donating to the university as a whole because I feel a lot of it gets lost in translation. I donate/ raise money for my college and pay the minimum alumni association fees because it gets you an LSU memorabilia gift as well as good deals on rental cars, hotels, ect...

When it's all said and done my graduate school will have done way more for me than LSU ever did, but I'll still help when I can

our pols and "connected" people have been doing that forever, but they take it a step further by getting their kids special grants and scholarships, and it's usually some pretty wealthy folks

I was leaving it at a basic level, but yeah. Anything corrupt at a normal level at one school is probably twice as bad in Illinois.

I would put those two as pretty equal. Illinois has a slight edge but LA is still corrupt as hell

I get what your saying though

For those who say LSU wastes a lot of money, in what ways? How would you change things? I've been to other schools and LSU is able to keep cost down to a fraction of these other schools – both public and private

sorry nobody liked you but you do realize that Louisiana is one of the top states for business right now and the so called "brain drain" is turning into a "brain gain"?
