Stopping once in Greenwood, MS was the only time I've felt unsafe inside a Walmart Supercenter. Also was the filthiest one I've ever seen. Everything looked dirty and pawed over.

Growing up, we'd always leave in the middle of the night on road trips to south jersey to see my dad's family. I had just got my learners permit and was driving the family nissan quest through Laurel when I needed gas. I got off at a northbound I-59 exit where there was some sort of chemical plant to the right. I didn't see any gas stations that way so I went left and ended up in the projects. People outside their apartments were staring hard at the minivan full of white people moseying around the hood at 3 am. I think of this every time I hear Laurel.

I ssy Grenada.

But the closer you get to the gulf trash side of Southeast MS It gets pretty shifty.

But by taking Hwy 61 off the table is taking away a whole lot of depressing. Many of thei ol Delta cotton towns have gotten horrible.
They've even taken to setting white girls on fire.

Are you kidding? Jackson makes Laurel and Meridian look like Beverly Hills.

OP question: Most depressing? Another way to ask this is:
Other than maybe the Mississippi Gulf Coast, is there any internet accessible Mississippi city (town, county, hamlet) that is not depressing?

Meridian has problems but isn't the worst. At least it has the Riley Center and a commercial airport. Downtown Jackson is the most depressing thing about Mississippi to me. It's also now the dumbest city in the USA.
