FYI, i have a bachelor of science....nowhere on the diploma does it mention anything about a concentration. That is only on the transcripts.

but others may say the concentration if that has changed in the last 15 years or so

I went to Auburn but graduated in 2011. But mine says "Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics"

I'm not looking to say I have a B.S. degree. I just am wondering why I can't say I have a degree in Biology.

Wow. Mislead much?

Let's hope this is about what you told some girl to impress her and not about a job application.

Because it's different.
My degree says "Bachelor of Arts"...but I have a B.A. in English.

You have a Bachelor of General Studies (or interdisciplinary studies.. whatever it's called).. but none of the things you studied are a B.A./B.S./etc. in the specific field.

I guess if you want, you can technically say you have A degree of some sort in biology, but it shouldn't be that hard to figure out you're tricking people into thinking you have a B.S. degree.

Too many bio/med required courses in Kines

yep that were 5 concentration in kins at LSU while I was there. All the athletes were either in p.e and coaching or sports adminstration.

Also all the hot sorority girls trying to go to pa school were in kins

Let's just see here.

What are the building blocks of Biology? Chemistry

Building blocks of Chemistry? Physics

Building blocks of Physics? Mathematics

Etc.

You have not proven to have mastered all of the important subfunctions of Biology, as well as other courses that boards of accreditation have deemed necessary.

Sounds like you need to talk to the Accreditation Board to get the requirements for a Bio degree changed

Why didn't you just get a degree in biology as opposed to selling yourself short with a general studies degree. A bio degree is not hard to get.

I'm more interested in the notion that someone with a degree in General Studies would try to apply to med school.

But is it a concentration?

I have a Bachelor of Arts.. my major is English.. my concentration is Literature. Concentration and major are not the same thing, right?

Yeah, I don't know why LSU doesn't put majors on degrees

All you would need is a good MCAT score and you could get in easily. It's not unheard of.

My LSU diploma doesn't even say my major. College of Basic Sciences has conferred upon ME the degree of Bachelor of Science. fricking dicks. Seriously, I want to take a red crayon or something and write physics on it.

I'll have to look at my diploma and see what it says. I'm fairly certain it has my major on it.

I was surprised they don't put majors on them too.
