I have two degrees from LSU. BS in math (A&S) and BS in chemistry (basic sciences) and neither list major. This was back in 2006, so it may have changed.

My PhD from Georgia Tech doesn't have my major, either

I just really don't understand why it's frowned upon to say I have a degree in Biology

lol, because people don't like to be misled and lied to.

in the end all that matters is you are happy where you are and your career path

Because you DON'T.

And because when people say they have a degree in biology, everyone on earth assumes B.S. You know that. You're intentionally tricking people.

Not only does it come to surface that it's a BGS, but it makes you look conniving. "Technically,..." No. Technically nothing.

Simple question: did you take ALL of the classes required for a biology degree?

I think it's a College decision

College of Engineering puts it on there.

You don't have a degree in biology. You wouldn't qualify for a position that required a BS degree.

And it's my fault they assume that?

no, it's your fault for taking the easy road and not getting a real biology degree

I disagree if you have experience in that certain field that requires the BS

I see why you had to get a general studies degree.

We did a semester project/final exam.

Basically wrote a min-thesis in one semester. Then presented our project to our advisory committee.

Mine was different in that I had a grad minor in Disaster Science. My project had to encompass CM, Business, and DSM.

College of engineering does.
