then you don't have a Bio degree.

Something tells me you're trying to get into Med School and can't figure out why they say you're lying on your application. It's ok, a lot of med students get gen studies degrees. But they call a spade a spade on the apps.

30 hours

You don't have a degree in biology. I'm sorry. You just don't.

I have over 30 hours in biology too, FWIW.

General Studies is a bullshite degree in case you didn't know. It's typically what athletes major in.

You are avoiding the argument though: Why do I have to say my degree is in General Studies whereas people with B.S.'s don't say theirs is in Science as the Acronym indicates.

They both have majors (in this case mine would be concentrations) that devote similar amounts of hours towards a subject(Biology)

I'm not looking to say I have a B.S. degree. I just am wondering why I can't say I have a degree in Biology.

Seriously? I'd think that like 1 out of a 1000 applicants with a General Studies degree would get accepted.

Because you don't have the required courses to say you have a Biology degree.

I'm not sure what you don't understand

I see why you had to go General Studies

This concept is not that hard to figure out. In order to get a degree in Biology you first have to admitted into the school of sciences at the university. That school has a Bio major (not concentration) That major has a flowchart of courses that are required for the degree. You must complete ALL courses on that chart Bio or otherwise in order to get a degree in Bio.

A degree is not just a piece of paper. It has an accredited lesson plan behind it.

because a degree in Biology requires more than just biology classes. You are required to take other sciences for a broader understanding of the field.
