When do you think it's ok to divorce?

The (traditional) vows do say in sickness, blah blah blah

But what if the other person just sucks and doesn't do their part? When is enough, enough?

Typically you would see this coming if you actually did your due diligence in getting to know them before marriage.

Makes me shake my head when people date for 3 months then get married and are shocked the other person is different than they realized.

I don't know. What you listed are just reasons and justifications.

I think it's ok to divorce when you walk into a room with your spouse and immediately want to be somewhere else each time. When you cannot stand the sight of her and she feels the same way. When you've long since forgotten why you fell in love in the first place and really don't care to remember anymore.

I guess when you just give up or in and you're just two people that occasionally get envelopes with both your names printed on the label.

When you date married men, they will always use this line.

Biblically, if your spouse cheats on you, you are justified to divorce, but you are not mandated to do so.

People can get a divorce anytime they want to. No sense in living in perpetual misery with someone you can't stand if you're financially able to support yourself. Having said that, people should take marriage more seriously. If more people treated marriage like the commitment it is, you wouldn't have so much divorce as a lot of those people never would have married to begin with.

"Look, I can't take you, your family, or any of the other crap anymore. GTFO."

When you get to the point of possibly raising a hand, it's time for her (or you) to go.

I think the better question is, when is it OK to get married....people who are getting divorced obviously failed that test (in most cases).

Add physical abuse to this.

What if you really got to know the person before giving your vows rather than simply approaching marriage as some kind of expected escalation of a relationship while still in the infatuation stage?
