Went camping in the Bavarian Alps years ago during the winter and our eggs froze, boot strings snapped and sweat in your socks would freeze making the sock a brick. No idea of exact temp but it was well below zero at night. We had Army issue winter mummy sleeping bags and they kept us toasty.

Tbh I was in New Jersey last year and it was 12° and I thought I was going to die. I can't imagine that shite in the Midwest right now. This Florida Man does not do cold weather.

0 F in Sapporo Japan at their annual snow/ice festival. Didn't know what the wind chill factor was but those ice sculptors weren't gonna melt anytime soon. And cowboy boots aren't a good pair of shoes to wear on icy streets. Don't know how many times I busted my arse.

-16 in Billings the week of Thanksgiving in 1993. I sat in my brother's basement and watched Leon Lett touch the missed field goal, and cause the Cowboys to lose to Miami in the snow. Always really easy to remember because I lived in Dallas back then. It was cold in Montana, but it wasn't snowing.

Novosibersk, Russia (Siberia), January, 1999, -36 degrees.

ETA: I was only there one week and the local people kept telling me how lucky I was to be during a warm spell. It was -50 the week before I arrived.

I work at the Basin, I’ve taken more than a few lift rides in the -40 to -50 wind chill range. Single digit temps with hurricane force winds are no joke

One year I was at Crested Butte and for 5 days I never saw the sun and it never got above single digits. Wind chill was hitting -20 consistently. At one point, one day they shut down the lifts because of white out and wind. It might have been hitting that -40 with wind range. That was freaking cold. That was about 25 years ago. Maybe more.

Don’t think I’ve ever been in negative or single digit temperatures, thank god. So probably about 15-20 degrees.
