I like reading these threads. It's kind of like being at the barbeque at Tara.

Rednecks are everywhere, all over the US. But to people who have never really left the South, except to maybe go to DC or NYC, they believe everyone "up North" is a skinny jeans wearing, Prius driving Obama voter.

Florida for beaches
Virginia for all around quality of life

The Deep South is pretty dumpy overall.

I pretty much use the Mason-Dixon line as my definition of "The South". As such, I don't include Virginia, Kentucky or Missouri as part of The South.

Tara is in GA and therefore in the Mid-Atlantic because of its proximity to NC.

Do you even read the threads?

Clearly NC or GA. If Texas is included, then Texas.

NC weather

NC weather is horrible

I'm going to say North Carolina.

-They've got Charlotte, Asheville, The Research Triangle, Boone (great small town).
-They've got great collegiate sports (North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, App State, Eastern Carolina). The ACC is headquartered in Greensboro. The ACC Championships are located in Charlotte and Greensboro.
-They've got professional sports (Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Bobcats, Carolina Hurricanes, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Pinehurst).
-North Carolina has mountains and beaches (the Blue Ridge Mountains and The Outter Banks.)
-They've got iconic BBQ. Other food is lacking, but there is a big revitalization in Asheville and Charlotte that attracts top chefs.
-There music scene is bleak compared to Tennessee, Louisiana and Georgia, but the state does have some famous artists and it attracts a lot of major acts as well.

The pro sports teams in NC suck. The fan bases are pretty shitty because they are all pretty new franchises. And the BBQ sucks. Just MO

I can only imagine. I'm in Jackson, MS, so I basically just close my eyes and daydream as much as possible.

I will never forget my trip to Williamsburg, VA. Awesome place

Haven't really spent enough time in all of them to say, I'd assume most here have the same problem.

The Carolinas are pretty great as a whole. But I love being on the Gulf Coast.

Based on that I'd choose Maryland/DC/Alexandria. If I had to live in the "real south" then NC>GA>FL. I actually like FL the best, but it's too hot.

States that no one has picked so far:

Alabama
Mississippi
West Virginia

Thank you, sir.

Believe me, my plan is to move somewhere different as quickly as possible.
