It should be a requirement that you can't post in this thread unless you have actually been to every state in the South.



Although that would eliminate 90% of the posters.

Based on your criteria, yea, I agree it's N.C. Based on my personal criteria I would order them something like this:

1. Florida (the beaches more than make up for the lack of mountains)
2. Georgia
3. N.C.
4. S.C.
5. Texas
6. Louisiana
7. Tennessee
8. Alabama
9. Arkansas
10. Mississippi

Note: I pretty much use the Mason-Dixon line as my definition of "The South". As such, I don't include Virginia, Kentucky or Missouri as part of The South.

also, many of the things usually associated with "the South" are also ubiquitous to areas in Canada, Pennsylvania, and other areas far outside of the South

NC is pretty but way too liberal and too many Yankees

Georgia is too dark
