Srsly, though, they don't have a Crossfit gym on Post? I could've sworn I read something about that a while back.

But yeah the installation used to offer free cf level 1 certifications.

I aggravated my chain of command (I have a ms in exercise physiology) and never got a chance to certify. It pissed me off

ask about the programming. do they focus on working out just to working out or do they focus on progression. Not only progression in the big lifts, but also on the gymnastic movements.

Do they set a time limit on the WOD? WOD shouldnt be the focus of the program.

Do they program in high rep deadlift and olympic lifting? if so, run

Equipment; do they have the equipment to perform the big lifts safely and do they have the equipment to perform the gymnastics movements and strongman lifts?

certifications don't mean shite btw. find a place they know how to teach and perform the lifts successfully. If you can't find one you like the programming at, find one that has open gym time or offers 1 on 1 training and follow a program like the greyskull lp, crossfit football, or better yet outlaw crossfit.

goodluck finding one though. I found one that teaches outlaw but their schedule sucks, so i built a garage gym.

Why not just find a regular gym that has a personal trainer that can teach you the Olympic lifts?

honestly certs dont mean very much to me. It's like when former shitty baseball players or guys that didn't even play football become great coaches.

there are certain things that make a great coach that cannot be expressed on a sheet of paper.

shite, sit down and listen to tommy moffit talk about how much he learns from youtube. This is prob the top S & C in college football. He says he can watch youtube videos up to 2-3 hours a day when he has the time.

knowledge is every where. Can the coach retain the knowledge, and teach it to his subjects in a way that they understand?

The high reps of deadlifting, cleans, snatches were my concern. The programming does concern me, and thanks for your help with your post.

If I'm going to learn the skill lifts I need to learn it frequently and correctly.

I think 75-85% over a fairly long period of time for up to three reps per set is good imo

Find one that charges you $150 a month and tells you to go run around the building. Those are the best!

Yeah I know that certs don't always mean crap. It just seems like these gyms are growing and are almost everywhere now. It reminds me of the amount of karate dojos when I was kid.

I have learned watching klokov chad Wesley smith etc on YouTube. Definitely great stuff.

Maybe all I need is a trainer for the lifts ill get more than enough conditioning by just doing sparring.
