Traverse City is pretty big time now, but I have no problem with your take.

Hill Farmstead was named Best Brewery in the World in 2013 and Heady Topper by The Alchemist is one of the Top 15 beers in the world.

I have had beers from both of these and they were fantastic. Buddy of mine made the drive to Vermont a while back and loaded up an ice chest or two and was nice enough to share.

Gotta make it plural:
Illinois
Indiana
Ohio
Iowa
Wisconsin
Minnesota

No insults to those who have ties to any of these. I just don't want any of my own.

If California had the responsible governance and excellent business climate that Texas has, it would be the best place on Earth to live and I would move there in a heartbeat.

I love living in CA, and am not ready to leave. But, there is a lot of truth in this statement.

That said, the good things about living here more than make up for the bad.

The rear bumper is. I went from chrome to black, but that is a stock option from toyota on the cheaper models.

Is there anything more breathtaking than that first time you see it in person and realize just how big it is?

Haven't seen it yet. On my list of things to do while living out here, but just haven't made the trip yet.

I think I could hold my own in both states. Wisconsin has tons of breweries and festivals. Also, I've always wanted to visit Madison,WI. While I've never been to Minneapolis, Minnesota. I've heard some positives about it.

Iowa is a great place to live.
If you are from there. Otherwise it is a cultural/cuisine wasteland. Pleasant people. Maybe too pleasant. Nice summers. Long, cold winters. Cornfields everywhere, and hogs. I lived there for 3 years. They were long years. Also to be from the South in Iowa it to endure stereotyping by the uninformed; to be from Louisiana is to be stereotyped to the nth degree. And SEC-deprived. You'd better learn how to say "Go Hawks!"

Do a helicopter tour. Like $200 for one. Worth the money. The views you get are amazing. Pictures just cannot capture how massive that place is. You see pictures and think "wow, that looks cool". See it the first time in person and go "WOW" and just stare for the next 5 minutes in silence.

That's what I've heard from everyone I know who's been there. Can't wait to see it myself.

Pretty sure all she said was that Iowa is nice except for one small town. All states have them. Don't get your panties in a wad.

I've never been but what I've seen of it looks to be nice. I can't imagine ever putting Des Moines on my list of vaction destinations, but it looks like there could be worse places to have to travel to for work.

That's a nice friend you got!

If that was me, I would keep that ice chest about as secretive as can be.

Wisconsin, in general, sort of sucks outside of Madison. Milwaukee is getting better and they have a redevelopment plan in motion that will make it much nicer.

Minnesota also isn't very good outside of Minneapolis. Rochester is OK, but it's just an epicenter of medicine in the middle of nowhere, though the city itself is built up pretty nicely.

Yeah he is very generous with his beer.

Truthfully I didn't know much about beer when I moved up here. If I wanted to get fancy I would order a Stella instead of a Bud Light.

Not saying I'm an expert by any means, barely even a novice, but he knows a lot about beer and always shares his good stuff with me and teaches me about the different breweries in New England.

This is a good list.

For me, I'd add Louisiana and Mississippi.

For political and firearm reasons, Illinois, NY, NJ and California would make my "unlikely" list.
