Agree. That's why you want to go by things like climate, cost of living, etc. Most states, especially large states, have the right kind of culture for you somewhere.

The short list:
Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
Kansas
Nebraska
Indiana
West Virginia
The "Deep South" states.
Out of those, Oklahoma might be the worst.

When you drive the 75 miles from the Pittsburgh Airport to Morgantown, the first 68 miles are SW Pennsylvania. Morgantown is six air miles from Pennsylvania.
I would not move to West Virginia but at least hate them for who they are, not their crappy PA neighbor.
