While I used to love me some new roads women (I do love the kissing hello), I never got along much with their brothers and fathers.

I grew up in Iberville (Plaquemine), and have lived in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes. But I much prefer the people here in Jefferson Parish where I live now.

Regardless of the parish, I think you'll find that people tend to get a little more wholesome as you move "down the bayou" until you eventually run into the nicest, most illiterate folks you'll ever meet.

Maybe 10 years pre Katrina , don't get me wrong it was way better right before Katrina than it is now and even now it's still not a bad place to live but there is a reason it was called Gods country 25 years ago .....

St Tammany

A lot of people think the baws in STP are either super rich or bible-thumping/gun-toting rednecks. That is not the case, many of us are just good ole baws. I grew up in Slidell, it has definitely changed as a community since those times though

Pretty scary place.

Born and raised in Iberville, never met nicer people anywhere else. But they have some trashy arse people there too.

I grew up in Plaquemines and there isnt many left that I know on the lower end. After Katrina 90% of the good people left and the meth heads from all over moved in.

I still know of a good bit of people left on the lower end. I don't think it has changed much besides having less people. There has always been some drugs on the lower end.

I lived in Boothville for my first 10 years of my life and then another 16 in Jesuit Bend. Spent a lot of time down the road though. Parents had a business down there and had plenty of family from down there. A good bit of my family were originally from Pilottown and moved north after hurricane Camille.

St Tammany has the most humble and salt of the earth people.

LOL... St. Tammany has the most gruesome history than any other parish in the state. The story of "Dead man Walking" was about the murderer from St. Tammany and that's just one of many examples.

Plus with Mandeville, "humble and salt of the earth" is the last thing that comes to mind.
