Of course it is, but hte argument is whether it is a learned behavior.

I believe that an increase we're seeing in homosexuals could be one of two things or a combination of both: more people admitting it and/or more people being conditioned to it.

Still, I believe it is a mental health condition.

I sure ain't denying climate change. That could be dangerous:

Bill Nye, the science guy, is open to criminal charges and jail time for climate change dissenters
quote:

Bill Nye “the science guy” says in a video interview released Thursday that he is open to the idea of jailing those who deviate from the climate change consensus.

Asked about the heated rhetoric surrounding the climate change debate, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s previous comments that some climate skeptics should be prosecuted as war criminals, Mr. Nye replied, “We’ll see what happens.”
quote:

About about the potential for a “chilling effect,” Mr. Nye said, “That there is a chilling effect on scientists who are in extreme doubt about climate change, I think that is good.”

This is where the protestants in America really belittle Christianity and show their ignorance. No reason it has to be religion vs. Science.

They were great when philosophy was big and how God fit into that...but then science came along. All that means is the frame of thinking has changed, not the pragamatic approach.

Could very well be truth to this. Maybe I'm open to some people actually struggling with an attention disorder, but for the most part I think it's bullshite.

Of course it is. All you have to do is look at historical CO2 levels to see that CO2 has been higher than we could ever reach by our emissions; and life was thriving on Earth at the time. There isn't anything scientific about the alarmists at all. It's more a puritanical, dogmatic belief system than science. I'm a strong believer in science but there is very little of the scientific method involved in the global warming arguments. It's been too short a time period and there has been no real effort to account for other factors (such as the solar cycles you point out; atmospheric water vapor is another). It's a very complicated issue and both sides are being very simple minded and pig headed about it.

In fact, many catholics do believe in evolution.

There are plenty of things that I don't agree on with the Catholic church, but as a whole at least the church tries to take an intellectual approach to many things. I could be wrong, but I believe that the Church has taken the official position to support the idea of evolution. It's certainly taught in their schools.

Not an official position, as there's not really a compelling theological reason to take a position. However, it is pushed through schools and people denying it are basically your standard issue "cafeteria catholics."

I believe that CO2 is a very poor green house gas, and I believe that warming of the earth has to do with solar cycles... much more so than a shitty greenhouse gas like CO2.

Same here. My entire education has been built around science. And sure, I believe climate change is occurring, but it ALWAYS has been occurring. Blaming it on "us" just fits a convenient political agenda. Before I'll believe that we're causing it, show me the science that proves that the climate remained the same for centuries prior to this.

Agreed. It's just ridiculous to claim you know one way or the other whether humans caused it given the small sample size of recordable data we have.

We need to listen to airfernando.

Maybe there was some type of "big bang", but you have to look deeper than that.

What created the big bang?

Aha!

It had to be something supernatural or at least something we have no clue about.

Which leads us right to the obvious conclusion that everything in the bible is true.

There's no other explanation.

that guy get on twiiter and literally blames every bad weather event on global warming. Always funny to see Joe Bastardi school him on weather.

The only thing science has accomplished is getting prayer out of our schools!! In my daughters class they were taught man evolved from monkeys and that the world was created from an explosion. But apparently the Biblical explanation (which is far older and actually has a real BEGINNING) is just too ridiculous!! Scientists don't care about hearing alternative explanations, they just want you to accept their liberal propaganda as fact!! The new world order will begin right under your noses if you keep letting them control our schools...

not believing in ADD, ADHD, or Dyslexia would make you not only a denier of science but simply ignorant.

I don't deny that there are people who have the symptoms ascribed to these supposed disorders, I simply challenge the notion that these are "one-size fits all" diseases that can be accurately diagnosed as they currently are. Prove that wrong, you can't because it's true- add, adhd, and dyslexia may exist, but they are certainly misdiagnosed at a ridiculously high rate. I'm not even sure why anyone would take issue with that assertion.

Obviously homosexuality is real, but it is not "normal," by any definition. Transvestism is absolutely a mental disorder.

The "concensus" on global warming is due to grant money. I would like to hear from scientists who don't stand to get rich off it.

And I've read about how inaccurate temperature data is from even just a couple decades ago. there is no way we have enough accurate info to make the conclusions being made.
