Wife’s had the Lexus, Audi, and Mercedes recently. She has the Mercedes now and likes it the most bc it scoots around a little better, like a car.

I liked the Lexus bc it sat up higher and is more of a truck ride. Completely different vehicles. Audi somewhere in between the two IMO.

The Lexus rides like a truck because it is. It’s a Toyota Prado overseas and badged in the states as a Lexus. I have had two of them and put 20K to 25K miles annually. Having owned some MBs & BMWs (to include an AMG) you can’t beat the reliability of the Lexus. Plus you get all the bells and whistles to go with that reliability.

Lived in Germany for a while so we got these cars straight out of the tap.

Our experience is the engineering/on road, hands down BMW. Over time though BMW has shifted more into luxury and less into "driving machine" so it's caught up to Mercedes-Benz for the most part. Anyone who is putting down BMW probably hasn't driven comparable Audi, BMW and Mercedes within the same model year. If they did and were honest they'd say Audi's tech sucks, Mercedes is the worst engineered and BMW is the most balanced

Meets the section 179 write-off GVWR but the $200k price for a decently equipped one might be a bit of a turn-off for some... if they can get an allocation that is.

We're on our 3rd Audi and I'd have a hard time convincing my wife to get anything else. Our next one will likely be a Q7/Q8 or the Q8 e-tron.

The first part is absolutely true. Anecdotal but my travel car is an ES and has over 430k miles and has had less than $2,300 of repairs and outside of a $3 tail light all came after 250k. It may need front wheel bearings before it hits 500k which would be fairly expensive because they are pressed in but we shall see.

The second sentence is not correct because one of the ways Toyota/Lexus keeps reliability high is they are slow to adopt new tech. A tradeoff some are happy to make and some are not. Compared to their rivals their cars are rather boring to drive again something some people actually prefer and I absolutely prefer in a dedicated travel car. The Toyota GR86 and some of the Lexus F line cars are not "boring" but they don't match their competitors in the fun-to-drive realm, except maybe the GR86.

I’ve had/have Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, A7, A8.

Prefer the Q8 over the Q7. Wider wheel base and quiet, extremely smooth driving on the interstate. Q8 doesn’t have the 3rd row seating, but has more backseat room. The rest is very comparable between the two. 20 gallon tank at 13 mpg city 20 mpg highway means fill up more.

Like the A7 over the A8. Drives great, not as big, very comfortable.

Had an X5, never never never will have a BMW product again. I wanted to put that post in all caps but I resisted but it was close.

American no better at this point

American cars break just as often, but are cheaper to fix. Still, I'm strictly a Toyota/Lexus owner.

While the 250 series LC is closer to the GX than the 300 Series LC they are still fairly different

Different engines 4cyl turbo hybrid vs 6 cyl turbo with different drivetrains
GX has available 3rd row
Infotainment options are significantly different also

When there are directly comparable Toyota and Lexus options the higher trim Toyota you are looking at the more it makes sense to consider the Lexus instead.

None. My wife bought an Infiniti QX50 a year and half ago. I never wanted an SUV, but much to my surprise I really like it. Very comfortable interior and a smooth ride, gas mileage not bad either.

Audi, ride is better than the BMW, tech is just right. I would also recommend the Cadillac xt5, they are building great vehicles again
