Get the new Lexus GX. She can thank me later!

Ditto this! The new GX is incredible. I might trade my GX in for one in a couple years. Or I might keep it, I love that bulletproof v8.
If she needs more room & more crossover, the new Lexus TX will seat 7.
BMW & Mercs are very nice rides, but for leasing only. No way in hell would I spend good money on vehicles that are suspect after warranty runs out.

Had an X5. Amazing drive. Extremely comfortable. Couldn’t wait to get rid of it. Do not under any circumstances drive one out of warranty.

The fix that caused me to pull my hair out was the $850 battery replacement that required a CPU remap. Normal car is $100 at autozone and takes 5 minutes. Brake jobs require replacing the rotors every time. The whole thing is just a money pit for fake status.

My wife has owned a pile of Beamers and if you ain't into spending a pile on maintenance or like doing it yourself I would stay away from the lot of them. They do have self changing oil in my experience...you just have to add a few liters every couple of tanks of gas.

I wouldn't own any of the three. They are all maintenance intensive and cost a fortune to drive. They are nice but not for me...

Had the 2019 Q7 and now have the 2023, both with the 3.0 engine. 2019 was the favorite car i've ever owned (transitioned from Yukon). Drove great and loved the tech.

Have not loved the 2023. I do not care for the touch screens. I have experienced a number of issues with the car and can tell the quality of the overall build is not as good as the 2019. Will not be sad to let it go in a year or 2.

Had a 2019 Q8 that already had the dual touch screens. I found them to be buggy and the wireless CarPlay connected when it wanted to. I have heard the newer cars 22+ are worse for bugs.

I'm guessing that her company wants her to get a new car now, before the end of the year. I think bonus depreciation goes down by half for 2024.

Wife test drove all three last year. Went with the Q7 with the 3.0L Turbo. She loves it. Just made an appointment for the first 10,000 mile service.

Prepare her anus for repair bills if she keeps it outside of the warranty. Zee German's make a good car, but they are over engineered.
