My cousin witnessed my other cousin being decapitated by a fence/gate wire while snowmobiling
Myself, in high school while jetsking with a few friends. One of their jetskis had the rubber hand grips removed(they were older models). Friend wrecks and flips it. I ride over on mine. We try to roll it back over(he was still in water) only to discover the handlebar had impaled his thigh right above his knee and peeled the top part of his thigh, about half way up, back. We could see muscle, bone, fat, etc... not much blood at this point. He freaks out, we all freak out, he flaps the piece back over, then we fly to the nearest beach(lake) He rides the jet ski up about 30 ft on the beach, rolls over and says he needs help. Crazy enough two separate ER nurses were about 10 ft away.
He cried and begged the next 10 minutes for a cigarette
I havent seen him in probably 10 years, but still walks with a cane from what I have heard.

Since this is the OT and everyone here has seen an ever more gruesome thing than the guy before him, I'm going the other direction.
I was shooting the shite with the guy in the next office and witnessed him get a vicious paper cut.

guy tried to step over a tractor PTO on one of these while it was running.
It grabbed his pants and wrapped his dick up half ripping it off. Lucklily it choked the tractor down and killed it before it killed him. Had to wade into the water and turn it backwards to unwind it.

I’ve seen and unfortunately heard 2 that were pretty nasty. Both in the gym.
Guy 1:
On the preacher curl machine. Bicep popped and rolled up into his shoulder
Guy 2:
Trying to squat too much and both knee caps rolled outside. I saw him buckle and then just collapse and he screamed like he was dying. Probably felt like he was.

My wife worked as a surgical tech while in college. BR General Midcity takes most of the severe burn cases in this region.
One night she had to work a surgery where a mother poured a pot of hot frying oil over the head of a small child
Poor kid survived for a few days before succombing to the injuries.
She also had to work on the woman whose baby was cut out of her by a BF tripping on bath salts

Rugby pitch: One of my teammates broke an opposing players femur in a tackle. Sounded like a telephone pole snapping.

Two old people (man and wife) on a stupid arse trike plow into the tongue of a boat trailer being pulled by a truck going the other direction on US129 known as the dragon.
That trailer ripped those poor souls apart, I puked. Nothing we could do for them at all. Just hope it was quick for them.

Real Talk:
my mom and dad were out for a walk one evening and my nextdoor neighbor's teenage daughter was driving about 60 down our country road and hit my mom when she looked down. threw her 10 feet in the air. i was 9. broken legs, hips, arms, you name it. her leg looked like somebody took a cheese grater to it for hours. head had a dent.
she's fine now for the most part, but her legs look like they were put back together with putty.
ETA:
number 2 was when i was at a church 4th of July event with the parents of a girl from our youth group. a couple of younger idiots were getting stupid with roman candles and mortar shells. one of them lit a mortar shell and then it fell over pointed at a bunch of cars.
the father of the girl and i ran over there to kick it towards an empty field and another one tipped over and hit him in the eye.
his eye came out of his socket and i saw it dangling. that's something i'll never unsee.

What is the most gruesome injury you have witnessed in person?
Does death count?
I saw a couple get smashed on the highway after losing control during the rain. I got to them but they were dead and going through the death rattle. A noise I’ll never forget.
I saw a few afghanis die in combat. The “worst” was a guy getting blown to atoms by a bomb.

I was carrying a mirror through my garage, and it broke in my hands. Severed my artery, nerve and muscle on my left hand/wrist. Glass went everywhere and blood was shooting out. My 3 year old son and 4 year old daughter witnessed it and just stood there crying. My dad, brother and father-in-law cleaned it up and said it looked like a murder occurred in my garage.

Didn't witness the actual accident but I watched a Father carry his deceased six year old son into an emergency room after he was hit by a car while riding his bike. It was clear the child was gone and to see this man carry his whole world in his arms while crying, screaming, and moaning "my baby" repeatedly was more than I could take. I broke down myself and never got over witnessesing it. I still have nightmares about it till this very day.
It's all part of Gods perfect plan

Working constuction putting myself through A&M. Was testing disconnects and heard a yell. Looked over and a boilermaker hit the ground from 110 feet. The civil crews were pouring concrete flooring in sections. You guessed it, his head hit one of the sections and splattered like a watermelon. This was the second person I had seen die on a construction site.
What a first post.

Dang. I sincerely feel very lucky. I'm 25 and I've never witnessed anything close to any of this.
