Buy him a 68 Resto Mod and have the best of both worlds.

I can tell by this post that you have obviously never left the United States. Go around the world and check out the prestige that the Toyota land cruiser carries and you'll see why it is such an expensive vehicle.

Well, a fully loaded QX is $70,000. You can easily option up a Chevy Suburban Z71 or a Toyota Sequioa to $70,000.
The newest Escalades can approach or exceed $100,000 now and the Range Rovers are beyond that.
I'm not saying the bland Land Cruiser is worth that much (it's one of my favorites)...just putting things into perspective. There is a lot of options out there in that price range. They are not the only ones over charging.
This is a world where a $40,000 Mercedes C-Class and a $50,000 half ton Chevy Silverado isn't all that unusual. You are easily shelling out $35,000 for a decent minivan. An $80,000 Land Cruiser isn't really all that absurd.

The Escalade, by any measure except snoot, is by far a better vehicle than the Range Rover.

My wife really wants a Range Rover. I've convinced her than the Land Rover LR4 is the exact same thing.
As long as you don't park them right next to each other, she'll never know.

I'm all about getting the women what they like.
I hate a lease, but that would be one (any Rover) to lease.

You do realize they'll probably be parked pretty close to each other at the dealership . She may notice

I really wish these were reliable. Like, I would own one soon if they were reliable.
And to answer the OP, the LC is Toyota's flagship vehicle. It is made in Japan. Stripped, diesel MANUAL transmission models are offered overseas, but import tariffs mean we only get the fully loaded version in the US.

Still waiting on the LC Prado

Anyone who pays $20,000.00 to have a different label on their car is a label whore.

Reading that hurt my soul. Reductions how over priced the vehicles are now and their depreciation is god awful.

Well, OK, but why was that directed at me?
